Flashlight Beamshots Collection (Picture Heavy)

Flashlight Beamshot Collection.

I was outside late recently, so grabbed my camera, a few lights and snapped a few pictures... these were done fairly fast so as not to alarm my neighbors

My camera makes things look a whole lot brighter than they are... but the way the flashlights light things up should be easily apparent.

The fire hydrant, light pole, and fist branches are at a distance of about 45 meters.

The higher tree branches are at a distance of about 75 meters.

First, the control shot:

Next the Armytek Predator v2, XPG2, this is a great pocket thrower:

Next the Crelant 7G2CS, NW - As much throw as you can get in an XML pocket light - which is to say it's "Regular" :

Last, my Throw King of them all, Crelant 7G5CS, modded to run at ~3A, with a de-domed XMLU3, and an Aspheric Head:

I feel confident this light will outthrow everything out there, as far as LED flashlights go, with the exception of the modded, TN31mb and the Deft X. Both are way more expensive though, one being roughly double the price, the other more than quadruple.

3/29/13 Update;

Photos didn't come out quite as good this time... I was rushing a bit too much I guess.

Control:

Crelant 7G3CS U3:

Eagletac G25C2 MarkII:

Stock Crelant 7G5CS, XML-T6, with Aspheric:

Crelant 7G5CS Modded:

Up next, to this I will also add Jetbeam M2S, Nitecore EA4, Jetbeam BC25, Fandyfire Rook, BLF Edition Trustfire A8, and Palight V60.

great job, thank you.

Cool shots.

Great shots, thanks for sharing.I 've always liked the aspheric beams and the u3 in that crelant really seems to kick arse.Do you have a way to measure the lux after the mod?I like the xre and the laser-like beam it produces, but the xml behind an aspheric really makes a nice wide column of focused light.

Glad you guys like the shots

I don't have a way to measure the lux unfortunately. I would love be be able to measure lux and candela/throw... not really sure how to go about it though.

One thing that is surprising, the un-modded T6 7G5CS is actually somewhat brighter in ceiling bounce, than the modded one. That it appears brighter is strictly due to not having the dome, and smaller surface area for a tighter beam.

I just ordered the XML2 LEDs from fasttech... will be interesting to see what one of them does in that light.

I'd like to add Skyray Kings, TK75, Apex 5T6, and Electrolumens Big Bruiser to the line up, but at the distances I have available to me, they are just too overpowering. With parks technically closed dusk to dawn, I'm not to sure where to go to truly have some fun.

Thanks for forcing me to put the Crelant 7G5CS Aspheric on my future lights to buy list.

Any beamshots of your Crelant 7G10 yet?

Yup, I took some shots last weekend, just need to sort through them, and get them up.

It produces a well defined, reasonably focused beam, but brighter, and with A LOT of bright side spil.

I'll get the pictures up tonight if I end up home before 1am.

Cool

How would you say it compares to the Fenix TK75?

Undecided between the Crelant 7G10 or save more for the Fenix TK75…

No question about it, save more for the TK75.

They are really not in the same league IMO, not in quality, throw, beam profile, or output.

If the MTG2 LED was driven harder, it could be a different story, but for the moment there is no contest between these two lights.

If you want to go cheaper, personally I would also take the BS Terminator over the 7G10.

I think the manufacturers, Solarforce, Crelant, Niwalker, and I'm sure others, have rushed too much in getting MTG2 lights out to the flashlight community. They just aren't driven anywhere near as hard as they should be, probably because there are no drivers to push out 5, 6, or 10A.

I would hold off on buying an MTG2 light... that is unless you're like me and just want to have the completely new things on the block.
