So it all started last December when I got fed up with a Mini Mag LED that was acting flaky and how not so bright my 4D Mag was. I also always seemed to be unprepared every time there was a power outage, so decided to buy a good flashlight that was both bright and reliable.

This is what happened.

  • UltraFire C2 modded with XM-L T6 and nanjg 105 driver (3-mode).
  • SolarForce L2T with 3-mode solar-force XM-L drop in.
  • 2x SolarForce L2 with 5-mode UltraFire XM-L Drop in.
  • SolarForce L2 with 3-mode custom XP-G drop in.
  • SolarForce L2m with 5-Mode UltraFire drop in.
  • ThruNite T10
  • ThruNite Ti
  • Aurora SH-035
  • Aurora SH-034
  • Aurora C6, custom built with Kaidomain 2280mA driver (3-mode) and XM-L T6.

And of course, you need batteries to run these things.

And who doesn’t love lasers.

Thanks for Sharing Nope586, I’ve kind of got a similar collection, although I can’t compare to that selection of batteries you have!

Just out of curiosity, which flashlights are your favourite/favourites?

So hard to pick a favourite. I’d have to say the Catapult V3 though, just because it’s the most impressive, though the XinTD and SolarForce L2T are also ones I frequently use. I EDC the T10 though.

I work in IT and get access to no longer wanted laptop batteries from time to time, so I’m able to tear them apart, test them and then use them. The protected batteries and non 18650’s were all purchased though the usual sites though.

I’ve got some red batteries like that, came out of a Dell Inspiron. They can run with any Chinese 2400 I’ve got. BTW, substitute the Catapult for an M8 and the L2’s for L2P’s and we have similar collections. Let me guess, you’re shopping for a multi-emitter now, right?

I got rid of the Utrafire's and purchased a few more Xtar 18700's

Home made adjustable 18650 balance cradle. Does 2 to 4 cells. Fan cooled of course :)

It’s my new road bike, a 2013 Giant Composite 2. My first carbon bike, pretty damned sweet.
