Solarforce L2M with solar force drop in.
Used on a daily basis for automotive shop for almost 3 years
Drop in failed. Not sure if its the driver or bulb but for the price
i think it was well worth it. Keep in mind these lights are abused
in my opinion. Oil, grease, drops, and constantly on for long periods
BLF D80
Bought these during the group buy last Dec.
Failed driver and switch after 10 months of use in the same shop
I use Solarforce all the time when working on cars. Have to admit I don’t do that on a daily basis, but there were 0 failures to date. I build all my dropins myself and they are not potted. the dropin should be easy to fix though?
The one time a light failed on me was when my (clone) Skyray King driver board bat+ contact ring lost the ability to connect to the batteries. Put some solder on the board and it worked.
DQG Tiny26650, great little power house of a torch or was, but sadly the switch is totally unwaterproofed, which makes you wonder why they bothered with o rings on the rest of it.
But worst still the tiny switch relies on the two small solder pins to keep it in place, after a couple of weeks of light use the pins bend or break and it’s useless.
3 astroulux mh10. All defective straight out of the box. Assuming the Imalent variant has issues too.
DQG Tiny 18650 IV - switch failed 2 ways at once.
it came off the circuit board, being mounted via 4 tiny solder pads, but also perpendicular to the pressing force, so every time you press it, it strains the solder pads
i could have soldered it back, maybe, but the switch also failed electrically, it was open circuit no matter what,
AND (RELATED) it would no longer click
total failure
i had had it about 8 months, daily use, EDC, nothing severe or industrial or around water or extreme temperatures
EDIT—-
i got another one and it quit after about 5 months, the light started fading out slowly, eventually it would not come on
i didn;t do anything to it that i know of, other than normal use
so i gave up on them

One of my EDC ThorFire TG06 I ordered in March has died two weeks ago. I swapped the heads to see it's either the driver or the LED (probably the driver). Its switch has also broken once before but they both came with a spare one and the replacement switch has worked since so I don't count it as failure yet.
Solarstorm T04, first failed 1 emitter. Later on, failed all emitter and most likely the driver. Age about 6 months when first failure detected, and on rare usage.
18650, several trustfire cells and recently 1 sanyo UR18650F.
Well, I suppose this is a fail… I bought a few “Convoy” C8s from TMart. They weren’t working and were replaced by T-mart. Again the replacements weren’t working, or one worked but failed after about 10 seconds. Again replaced by Tmart. So I posted here and TheDude wanted to see them and fixed them. They were all counterfeit. They’ve been rebuilt and now work.
My second was after a few months of intermittent use my L2 stopped working suddenly at zero dark thirty. It turned out that the ring holding the driver hadn’t been screwed down snugly. A quick fix and a learning experience. From now on I’ll check lights over when I get them in.
