Budget Light Forum, how’s it going homies! I have another Nitecore review for you, and after 4 more I’ll get my first born back. Ok, that was a joke. But this one was provided by Nitecore for review, and it’s for the MT20C. I test outputs, make jokes, do a runtime test, and have a big beamshot section with a few familiar BLF lights. Also I did not do any testing with CR123A batteries or 18350 batteries. The manual does not mention any low voltage protection, and in any light I’ve tested that doesn’t spell it out in the manual- they usually don’t have it. That and I don’t have matching protected 18350 batteries. Hope you like it, and feel free to hit me up with any questions.
You already included the EC11 beamshots
Yep. You may see it once or twice more. I shot a variety of stuff during one setting for the Nitecore stuff I’m doing. The EC11 had a 499 lumen output so I thought it was appropriate for a beamshot comparison. I think I did about 15 lights, so I pick and choose what’s appropriate for each video.
Hard mechanical reverse click switch
EDIT-Great review as always. I seen it posted earlier but I didn’t watch it until I got the big TV.
What did we have for dinner ?
Just burgers and some beer. I left out a few words. I basically was saying it wasn’t a soft e-switch like all the other Nitecore’s I’ve reviewed. No parasitic drain. It wasn’t a technical way of saying it.
Is this light still worth buying? I like the fact that its forward clicky with up/down brightness toggle button, deep pocket clip. Btw, is there any other light that has these features? It uses an old led, XPG2 R5 throws 180m with peak beam intensity of 8300cd.
Comparing it with Olight S30R III, that uses newer XML U2, it throws 188m and beam intensity of 8840cd which is not a big difference. But lumens wise the S30R is 1050 lumens where else the MT20C is only 460lumens. I’m guessing the MT20C has a more focused hot spot?
