Flashlight stop to work after fall to the floor

All was working untill a Thorfire C8 hit the floor from about 1-1.2 meter, after that it wont turn on.

Test LED, working, switch working, driver probably is dead but I don’t know what can cause this more precisely what could go wrong ?

Also need one for replacement do anyone know where to find the same one ??
It is 20.7mm and board thickness is 1.6mm.

One of the lights I edc is my NC EA11. A couple of days ago I dropped it to a concrete floor. While it still worked immediately after I tested it, a few hours later nothing can make it work. I know it’s not the tailcap nor cell as I have another NIB EA11 and tested the old tailcap. What could perhaps be the problem?

It stand firmly, I do not have loupe but as far as I can see with my eyes all is on its place, there is a lot of small components so I can’t be 100% sure without enlargement.

No it is not burned or damaged, probably I cut it a little somewhere when removing a driver from shell.
I check with DMM and there is connection on both wires from top to the bottom.

Yea i would say its the inductor i have had a few break from AAA/AA lights in the past.

It is possible that the coil springs have been compressed from the fall and there is not electric contact.

I already order new one, but if someone have idea what to check and where to check I will try. I think this one is dead and nothing can be done.

Got it, replaced but I have only one 100% mode :person_facepalming: On pic it say 1, 10, 50, 100 % and strobo…

Check for shorts between the emitter/driver negative and the body/reflector. This will effectively bypass the driver and give direct drive whenever the tails switch is on.

Yep thanks I found a problem, open again and somehow when I put all together and screw up an retaining ring from negative wire is taken off some isolation so wire was naked and somehow touching something which causes a problem…

Also I get one new inductor, will try to replace on faulty driver to see can it been fixed.

I do not think the induktor itself is damaged. But because it is heavy it could have broken loose. try to resolder the leads of the induktor and check if the problem is gone.
