So, I have made these beamshots with PS, as an example.
Well, I have light with this beam, i.e. ITP C7. Nice and clean beam, and throws quite well too.
My Xeno E03 has this type of beam. Don’t know if it’s just my sample, but I can see the central part of hot spot a little bit yellowish. It’s not a donut hole, but outer part of hotspot is more on cold side. Only visible on white wall though.
Crelant V31A has beam that looks like this one. I like it actually.
Have seen lights with this beam too, don’t have any myself.
But, I would like to try a flashlight with this type of beam :
Have tried onionskin paper (or whatever). 100% flood, but you lose too many lumens So, something you can recommend? Maybe TIR lenses? Other type of diffuser? Big emitter with small HeavyOP reflector? Something else? Many thanks in advance
So you want a tight spot with an almost linear taper spill?
For that tight-spot, try an XP-G2.
Combine that with a medium-depth OP reflector (not necessarily heavy OP)
On top of that try to stick some matte contact paper on top on your lens. (the stuff mums make you stick on your books so they survive the abuse of primary school)
for that beam, ill reccomend you to play with tir optics, i have a selection of multiple degree beams, and the 15 or 30 degree optics are pretty much the same than the last one you post, let me take a picture
i have only xml at home now, (i dedomed an xpg trying to take the picure, crap!) and the only tir i have for xml is a 15 degree one bought in fasttech, but can give you an idea of the beam (i have not much time, i took it with the iphone, sorry)
its taken at about 1.5 meters from the ceiling, and the beam is about 1 meter wide. its evenly bright in the middle, and it diffuses in the last 20ish cm.
it was not attached to the led, it was lying over a c8 pill i had around there, so there are some aberrations (i guess thats the cause) and you can see a bit of the square image of the led, i think… i dont know with other degree lenses, all my other lenses are not designed for xml, it doesnt fit inside
i wish i hadn’t dedomed the zoomie (yes, its a smaller die image now, but with artifacts and less bright)
It’s similar too a sipik sk68 zoomed out yet just except there’s no softening at the edges of the sk68, the beam is even all the way across like a Mule light when it’s set to flood

As for zoomie - yeah, already have one. I like zoomies, but I would like to try both beam types altogether (i.e. zoomie flood mode + throw mode all in one)
As for diffusor film / DC stuff - I have tried with onionskin paper, and as I said before, I see a big loss in brightness Will those films let pass more light than onionskin paper?
The diffusor films on cpfmp have very little light loss. vinhNyugen was selling a really good quality. I don’t know about the onion skin, I use the Oveready diffusor lens in an L2m and I loose a berry little. The Surefire E series caps are highly efficient too, I say less than 2% loss over a regular glass lens.
I bought it with batteries, so it didn’t hurt quite as bad. Back when I could buy batteries from American dealers. It really makes nailbenders Nichia 219 Linger special awesome in my L2M
