For those of you out there addicted to the SkyRayKing (I have 5 different versions) I have hit the “mother load” with the new “modded” version from mountain electronics! Has to be a true 4500-5000 lumens/ pulling 15 amps at the tail cap!

The guy running the company is awesome…I would email him and see if he would mod a black one! It’s kinda funny …being a “king” enthusiast….it’s not a king unless it’s gold;)

There are other lights. SRK’s come in black or brown, and there’s always the Yupard Triple.

My vote….3C. Still warm and brighter than 4C.

very interested to see how it stacks up against my xml2 t6 3c tiny monster set to 3.4a per emitter 
it doesnt look like this mod includes a UCL but i have 3 or 4 that will fit the kings size (52.1mm mag lite size works with an oring just fine)
I have the modded version in 4C and I think it is perfect,…very natural looking light. I think with the amount of light coming out the front you should pick the tint you like best and not worry about which is brighter, did I mention this light is bright? 
My son is 19 years old and humors me with my flashlight “problem”, anytime I get a new light he acts interested enough to walk outside to check out how bright my new light is. Normally I get a “yeah that is pretty bright” and he is back on the phone, when I turned on the SRK he was honestly interested! He had to hold it and even asked if he could take it over his friends house to show him. Trust me,…it takes a lot of lumens to impress a teenager! 
I haven’t bought myself a new light in about a year… and this might actually get me to do it.
thanks for the heads up. im a srk fanatic myself. i wish he offered this in a 4x or 6x though.
because it be nice to have more flood than the 3x, and maybe more lumens….
I'll have to ask if he'll sell the driver separately, or if he'll mod a different version. I'm thinking either the $25 six emitter version that ships out of DX's US warehouse or a Supfire M6...or a combo of both to get the six emitter reflector (higher emitter efficiency) and the rest with M6 parts.
Actually, what I should just do is ship Richard my real SRK to mod similarly to the OP, then build something else later when I decide what I want.
i contacted him through the site, this is what he responded with
“I’ve got a few other 6x samples on the way to test out. I can mod any of them for insane output but the problem is that many of the 4x and 6x lights have poor heatsinking capability because the pill or shelf doesn’t make good contact with the body. If any of them have decent construction I will be offering some of the 6x SRKs modded as well.”
It would also be interesting to see, if he sells the drivers seperately, without the light
Driver can be sold separately, no problem.
I don’t even like the gold colored king but had to order one of these from Richard with the 2nd level mods.It should be fun to compare it to my black Tmart special.
