Four Sevens Preon P0 Has Problems

This is just the first run of the Preon P0 so, I guess David will fix the problems in time. Problems include off center led's, Broken O rings & no replacements yet, Horrible beam color & some not working properly. I really like Four Sevens lights but, going to hold off until things are fixed. The older Four Sevens light I have is perfect in every way.

Lol..you got to realize that out of the thousands that have been sold a few lemons will appear. How many have what you claim? Even if you heard from 50 people that there lights are crap most likely thousands are perfect.

I have one that's perfect. No complaints here. Beam is on cool side, emitter perfectlly centered, modes work perfectly. Absolutely perfect example. If I had a lemon, I'd send it back for another and never look back. Great little light.

And all that tint snobbery. What the heck does one expect from this tiny little light. When I pointed the P0at my white sheets, the sheets were white..not blue, green, aqua ,, WHITE. All the tint hype revolves around the Glow In The Dark front end as it adds to the illusion of Aqua-Tint.

I'm holding off too,,,for the next version if there is one..LaughingLaughingLaughing

Mine had a few QC imperfections but was acceptable and good after quick dissasembly and cleaning/rearrangement. My main problem however was that all my rechargeable cells' positive nipple-tops were so wide that when screwed down they wore of the thin layer of plastic on one of the components and exposed a tiny bit of metal inside. This led to any Ni-mh cell I had shortcircuiting and giving off no light but a lot of heat very quickly.

I fixed this by adding a small blob of solder to the positive contact so it doesn't screw in quite far enough to short-circuit. I'm just hoping this won't affect the warranty at all as that was one of the main benefits of getting this over the DQG for me.

I do not dislike four sevens...sorry you took it that way. I was just stating what I have read on CPF.

So the GITD particles don't influence the beam at all? That's actually very surprising, as it has to be lit to glow. I can even see the effect of GITD O-rings between reflector and lens on some lights.

Vectrex... an admitting tint snob. ;-)

I've handled one and I was extremely unimpressed. It had dirty./gritty threads, a terrible tint (yes, I am a bit of a tint snob ), and quirky mode-skipping.

I admire what they were trying to accomplish with this light but the execution was a failure.

Interesting. I was just about to order one. I guess I will wait a little bit for updated version or DQG Tiny III. I like the moonlight mode though.

Size comparison.... Excuse the plumber's tape on the DQG, my oring broke and that's all I have on hand to fix it.

That's because you have been staring directly into the Corona of the Kryptonite. Your beam perception will now never be the same. First sympton is the illusion of a peripheal green glow outlining a completely normal beam. Wink

credited cpf user Got Lumens? opened a thread where solutions to problems with Eneloops are discussed. 2 videos are included. well made, thorough investigation, thanks GL!

4 Sevens P0 Mini Video Review - Eneloop Battery Research Video

basically it is being demonstrated that the manufacturing tolerances are very tight and this may lead to problems with batteries with different lengths.

interesting.

It's incredible to me to see how many of these lights don't work properly on an Eneloop.

Reminds me of someone's blf user nick. Not Surefire. ;)

lol

Poor David ... sued by surefire and problems with one of their few lights for 2012... I hope they survive.

+ 1

and much of their money was already invested in unnecessary rebranding (logo, designers, photographer, website, catalog, t-shirts, packaging, inventory, furniture, ..).

the few problems with the P0 will consume portion of the P0 profit margin, true.

su*efire. i am not so sure how serious/bad/real that legal conflict situation is. could be harmless. a company suing 20 other companies at the same day/time? sounds like myself.

not too serious.

Not serious?

If they don't respond in 21 days, there will be a default judgement against them in Federal Court.

That is pretty serious, if you plan on doing business.

all problems solved!!
