So mine just arrived today. I have to say I am impressed with all the Astrolux lights I have purchased in the last year.

The SST40 5K is what I ordered with discount code. It is floody and throws far enough for my needs. I will agree with some posted a page or two back it has a bit of rings in the spill. Not a deal breaker but be aware of it as some people feel it may be a deal breaker.

This might be my walk the dogo light for a few weeks to see how well it is going to be in the long run.

My green SST40 5000k arrived today, really liking it so far. Using a fully charged 40T I measured about 24A with a clamp at the tail. It has a good balance between throw/flood for my needs. The beam is a bit odd when projected onto a plain surface (flower-petal like rings on outside, dark ring halfway in with some color shifting), but that was expected based on the reflector design and not an issue to me. The notches on the head do not prevent it from rolling around on a hard flat surface, even though it looks like it might be meant to.
Thermal throttle could be a bit more aggressive. I calibrated the temperature using a thermal camera as reference (22C at the time). I had it set to a limit of 40C (10 clicks, to add to the base 30), let it turbo for a while hands off, no other clicks - I manually stopped the test when the handle reached 58C, the neck right above the button was 72C, it reported 58 when having it check its own temp. I’m not sure if it ever really throttled. I have quite a few Anduril lights that calibrate and throttle fine, best to keep an eye on this one’s temp when using it.

I have the same “problem” with after calibrated temp, and config like you 40° max. And never do throttle in both light
Have xhp and sst40 both the same problem.

Im not sure, but maybe can be for anduril version?
I want the thermal proteccion work,but for now will wait to hex file with modern anduril and try to flash. Then pray.

Mine is runnlng Anduril 2 now, so thermal reg should be ok. Boy, that sounds bad for the stock UI. Again, we really don't know what version they are using, and seems like they modified it to get rid of the breathing/flicker mode on the AUX switch LED, or maybe went back to a really old version?

That version # sounds ok. We really have no idea at all what they are really running unless they tell us or post what they got. I dunno - maybe China restricts or scares them in posting shared files - it's always difficult, it seems, to get them to share anything.

They know the terms of the freeware usage, have even been told / reminded directly. Still do not follow the rules.

Not a new tactic. People just claim ignorance when a penalty finally comes. It’s easy p-z

Also- thank you to user/Richbuff- there was a post he responded to me weeks ago that I can’t remember really but that had me start considering this light. Plus he raved about it and it caught my attention. Credit where it’s due.

While all the other options have a ‘expected’ date somewhere in first week of February.
