huh? they never allow bad reviews on any light or item u buy there……

the reviews are so fake, 3 are from the same user saying “good look flashlight”…… probably paid to write positive only….

As you point out the code is available for others to use. I’ve bought a few drivers with that firmware. The sleeve idea is also not patented (that is fritzworks idea btw not lumintops) and emisar also uses the sleeve idea in their new KR() range.

Despite having “copied” (as you say) some great innovations this Meote is still a lemon and the people behind it will be currently pulling their hair out.

You fail to understand the nature of “open source”. The software is free. If you want a particular person to develop it for a particular use, then you probably have to pay them for their work - but that doesn’t change that the software is free to use within the terms of its license. In fact, a lot of large corporations invest a lot of money in open-source software development. Those innovations are typically then available under the same open-source license - those who take advantage of them are not stealing anything.

Meote still violates the license as far as I can see. Or do you have a link to the source code? I can’t find it anywhere on the product page.

Even with all the negativity reviews I really wanted to buy this light just based on how it looks. It really is just a nice looking flashlight. I’m happy I did and it didn’t let me down

I received it last week and it would not work properly with a flat top cell. I switch to a button top, cleaned all of the contacts with Alcohol, tightened everything down (like of the fw) and it now worked perfect.

It doesn’t suffer from any of the previous issue I see stated here. I can even remove the bezel by hand and there’s no glue. The optic is still the 2 prong optic but the tint and beam are perfect and brighter than my FW3A. BTW I purchased the Samsung leds

I’m not sure if this is V2 or not but felt the need to post what I’m experiencing. MEOTE may have fixed all the issues. Is there any way of knowing if v2 was release or of I just got lucky

Which LED version of the Meote FM1 did you get?

In my test, the LH351D Meote FM1 is “OK”, the SST20 and XPL-Hi version of Meote FM1 has noticeable beam artifacts (in particular the SST20).

A few months late but, I would have given you one. It really is just an awful shame. It looked and sounded so promising. But that beam and operational difficulties has put it on my “ain’t happening again list”.

Hope their V2 is better designed and implemented or I fear they may get the BLF cold shoulder.

Yes, on my (Android) phone I use the Chrome browser, go to the imgur site, and then change to desktop version. Then when I check a photo and do a longpress on it, I choose watch image. It opens on a new tab and I can grab the link of the tab.

Not sure. A few folks got lucky but, most were disappointed. Some cracked them open and fixed them. I just gave them away with some DCFix on the lens.

Really a sad story. I read through this entire thread and Freeme was really working with everyone to create a nice light.

I personally think they hit it out of the park with the one I got but understand it can’t be…one or two good ones here and there. I hope their troubles don’t dissuade Freeme and/or Meote from making new lights. I would definitely give them another shot. To me this light can hang with any other light at this price range. At this moment its my favorite rear switch 18650 light. The Manker E14 III comes a a close second but the FM1’s look/style/feel pulls it ahead to 1st.
