Fun with DX headlight bulbs :-(

I recently bought a pair of 35W BA20D headlight bulbs from DX to replace the factory bulbs on my scooter.

(Don't buy from this link) http://dx.com/p/sencart-ba20d-35w-6000k-920lm-1-led-white-light-motorcycle-halogen-lamp-headlamp-dc-12v-180518

On attempting to install the bulbs, I found that

  1. The bulb is rotated 90 degrees from the orientation of the factory bulb. This can be seen by looking at another user's photos on the DX site so I wouldn't have a high/low beam, I would have a flood/throw beam! Laughing
  2. The two bulbs I received are not even facing the same direction! Compare the tab orientation and look at the high/low beam deflector in this pic:

I have a burned-out low-beam filament in one of my bulbs so I need a set of bulbs for my scooter now ASAP. With the CNY, anything from overseas is going to be delayed, and scooter bulbs are hard to find locally. And most online sources are much more expensive. Embarassed

This also came from DX, i think there is no quality control at DX…

Oh that's sad! I almost want to laugh, but that's no laughing matter right there.

Love that connector! Glad you actually looked at it before connecting something, I doubt that everyone else will have the same level of clairvoyance.

I have sent the photo of the connector to DX, but i never got a reply from them.
There were 2 of these connectors in the package, buth were wrong.

Have you tried pulling both pair apart then putting them back together after switching a peice from each pair? If your lucky switching one end might make both match.

You can remove the pins from the connectors and swap them very easily with a tiny flat screwdriver or a knife.

I have done that, but i was Lucky to see the switched wires before connecting lithium-ion batteries to the charger…
