Given the problems they’ve had with quality control manufacturing the 18650 version, do you really want them to go through all that again by redesigning the body and switch? It took 2 years to get the 18650 version issues mostly resolved. Redesigning for 21700 is asking for problems. Is that worth it for just 33% more capacity but a non-pocketable version?
I suppose I just don’t understand the desire for the 21700 format. It’s not that much of an improvement in capacity or power than what we already have with 18650. And it’s so much less pocketable. Chargers haven’t even caught up with the format yet, unless you like to cram your cells in.
