…sigh… this is so obvious I feel ashamed of not catching on. Thanks Nugget!

Are any more new models coming out soon? There were so many for a couple months there, is the “new model year” all rolled out?

Just received this G7391-CF from DHGate.

My wish is that Ganzo will launch new models or re-release current models in CF scale with black blades.

Nice one! I also have one in the mail.

You can buy the G739 and the G741 with black blade then replace the scales with the CF ones.

Thanks for the review, Doomer. That Ganzo G741 with CF scales is looking more and more tempting…

Your killing my wallet…. I love it. Make me some carbon fiber G724, G727, G729, & G740 :sunglasses:

Your very welcome! I’m glad someone enjoys my writings. Here is another little piece worked on this past weekend.

Full Album

A lot of Ganzo’s are coming with these lanyard whistles now. I have several lying around and thought I would share my experiences with them. Generally I dont use lanyards, and I have never bought a whistle (by itself) in my adult life. I did however do a little research into emergency whistles a while back, enough to realize I would likely not use one lol

That said I do use two of the Ganzo lanyard whistles. One I threw on the emergency multi tool I keep in my car and it does give me a some piece of mind to have a signaling tool in the car. The other is on the knife in the photo’s (Ganzo G7392P-BK) that hangs in my kitchen for utility work. The slightly aggressive wave pattern in the G10 on this knife beats up pants pockets, so it lives in the kitchen.

The whistle itself is of decent construction. Fit and finish are fine, but below Ganzo’s typical standard. The edges are a little rough and the lanyard is just a nylon shell not full 550 cord. The nylon cord is plenty strong for hanging and retrieving out of the pocket, I doubt it would wear out with typical use. While it is long enough to use as a hanger and lanyard, its not long enough to go around the whole hand as a wrist strap. Both my wife (size S gloves) and I (size XL gloves) found this to be the same. The length is probably a good balance for pocket carry as a full wrist strap would dangle very far down your leg.

The whistle tone is a bit tooty as opposed to the shrill sound of some of the more pricey survival whistles I have heard. It gets a little loud, but its not going to deafen anyone with out some real lung work.

I have seen more effective whistles, but as add in for something I was going to purchase anyway its very nice. As I said I have several, and use two so overall I’m happy with my purchases.

Better still, maybe ask Ganzo to sell after-market scales for their knives, just like what Hinderer do, but not $100 for a CF scale or $65 for a G10 scale

Those outrageous custom scale prices for famous brands came to my mind when I wrote that.
We’re lucky because we can get a complete folder with CF scales for ~$20 shipped!

But its obviously fake CF. You can easily tell by the weight and price alone. I don’t remember the name of this material that looks like CF.

It might be fake, but it is light in the hand and looks the same front and back. Does the fake stuff you know about look the same on both sides? Honest question, I just dont know much about the imitations past the laminate type.

Hello. You can add a table that Ganzo G743 - a copy Boker Magnum Bondsman Wood. Naturally, as amended.

I suggested this in my review of the Ganzo G7432. You can read through Google translator here: Стильный нож Ganzo G743-2-BK.

Can someone confirm or deny this statement ?

This statment is true.

This statment is false.

Here you go, two bird one stone.

Wow, that was useful.

Sorry buddy, i indulged into a little bit of light hearted sillyness, didn’t mean to be an ass.

No offense taken.

Thanks for sharing, and thanks for a great review !

CHANGES

Ganzo G741 Five Way Battle Royal

There are five versions of the Ganzo G741, Carbon Fiver, G10, Wavy G10, G10 Frame Lock, and Wood. I have four of the five, and thought I would rank my experiences with them. I also linked to an album of photo’s in the title, as my big pictures feel more of a nuisance to the format of the forum. Sorry for how they took over the page previously.

Ganzo G741-1CF-WS (2nd) - The carbon fiber version is a sexy knife. While it sacrifices some texture, I let it slide due to the wonderful aesthetics. This is one of only two that actually earn pocket time.

Ganzo G7413-GR-WS (5th) - The flat textured G10 version, and easily my least favorite. The colors work fantastically together, but the long shape of the blade does nothing to help out the long formless grip. The texture on the G10 does help this weak point, but its not enough for me to carry it. In fact when competing with other knives that have so much more personality it just falls by the wayside.

Ganzo G742-1-BKP (1st)- The frame lock version is clearly my favorite. The aggressive wavy G10 perfectly complements the lack of shape in the handle. Normally this pattern beats up your pocket, but as the frame lock side is smooth bypasses this issue entirely, giving you the best of both worlds. Its also a bit thinner than the other flavors of G471, so that is a nice plus to pocket ability. The only downside is that its just a bit heavier than the rest, and the rest are already big heavy bricks of steel and G10. The difference is minimal, and easily forgiven for the perfect compromise between grip, thinness, and pocket ability.

Ganzo G7412P-OR-WS (4th) - I love the looks of this knife, the bright orange scales perfectly complement the titanium hardware In hand, the wavy G10 sticks to your hand with out hot spots. That same wavy G10 is rough on your pocket, and it will eat the fabric in short order. Its just too much of a good thing and prevents this beautiful blade from earning pocket time.

Ganzo G741-2WD1-WS (3rd) - I dont own this one, so take the following as a well intentioned educated guess. I have another wood scale Ganzo, and other reviews line up with my experiences. Generally the wood scale Ganzo’s are a touch lighter than the G10 versions, helping this heavy beast slightly in pocketability. However, they have a less aggressive grip than the G10, and the edges are not as well rounded over. While these edges do not make hot spots proper, they are a bit “warm”. Due to the weight, and appealing looks I’m giving this one the nod over the flat and wavy G10 Axis lock versions.

Excellent write-ups both Doomer and Svyazist.
More Ganzo knives in my wishlist

The new G7431 with stainless steel bolster? and framelock is one that really interest me

It really is the best one.
