Ha Ha, yep, like to freak the neighbors out, it was fun for awhile but now their on to me so now I just throw the cheap ones I don’t want anymore, hope they don’t start throwing them back at me, maybe better leave my windows open for a bit afterwards, you think?? ha ha…

You must have driven many lights with 10A 20A current and know that shits will happen one day.
Close or open window is not going to affect your neighbor, but they might have reported to police if it really exploded. I think maybe prepare a big container that’s batteries explosion proof is better.

But need more (3 or 4 pcs ) to put on grooves
I have only 1 take from old cheap light.
28 x 24,5 x 1,2 mm thick

I checked everywhere. But the only shops i could find such o-rings are shops for Business customers.
And they do not sell only a few to a privat person. But please let me know if someone finds a source for square o-rings.

“Protection” circuit failed in my Nitecore LR30 as soon as I put it in… saw some smoke so I threw it outside !
The battery flew out of the lantern, 20sec later a hissing with some smoke appears and 2sec later BOOM !

The O rings closest in size I found are these:

Skylight this is not a bad find! But the OD to ID ratio is not right!
The OD of the light at the finning area is 36,7mm. So a 37mm OD o-ring would fit perfect and prevent ratteling. The main problem is, the finn spacing is 1,2mm but they are 1,7mm deep. This is the reason why it is not working with a round o-ring. Maybe if you use 2 flexible silicone o-rings ontop of each other.
But almost every flexible flat o-ring with a OD 28-37mm should fit, aslong the ID is ~3,5mm smaller than the OD.
A 1,2mm wide o.ring will fit perfectly but if you have one with a smaller OD (~28-33mm) you could get a 1,5mm one to fit (should fit after streching it to 33,3mm ID).
My main problem is to find one with this OD to ID ratio.

And it seems that now all Cometas are sold. The EU Warehouse is also showing Sold Out now.

My Cometa from Cinese warehouse has arrived yesterday. :partying_face: I have got to admit that I imagined the light much worse but if you compare it to cheap Cinese zoomies the quality is quite a few levels above. Already the anodising is different, a nice smooth black instead of the usual glossy black. Maybe I will get some O rings too or just let the zoom rattle as long as it is not the whole head coming of. It seems that they have solved the problems with this light now, just don’t forget to put the plastic washer in and the light will be save to use.

Guys remember, my flat square Ring fit perfect for zoom.
Not too lose and not too hard when rotate head
measures 28 x 24,5 x 1,2/1,5 mm thick.
