Skylight this is not a bad find! But the OD to ID ratio is not right!
The OD of the light at the finning area is 36,7mm. So a 37mm OD o-ring would fit perfect and prevent ratteling. The main problem is, the finn spacing is 1,2mm but they are 1,7mm deep. This is the reason why it is not working with a round o-ring. Maybe if you use 2 flexible silicone o-rings ontop of each other.
But almost every flexible flat o-ring with a OD 28-37mm should fit, aslong the ID is ~3,5mm smaller than the OD.
A 1,2mm wide o.ring will fit perfectly but if you have one with a smaller OD (~28-33mm) you could get a 1,5mm one to fit (should fit after streching it to 33,3mm ID).
My main problem is to find one with this OD to ID ratio.

And it seems that now all Cometas are sold. The EU Warehouse is also showing Sold Out now.

My Cometa from Cinese warehouse has arrived yesterday. :partying_face: I have got to admit that I imagined the light much worse but if you compare it to cheap Cinese zoomies the quality is quite a few levels above. Already the anodising is different, a nice smooth black instead of the usual glossy black. Maybe I will get some O rings too or just let the zoom rattle as long as it is not the whole head coming of. It seems that they have solved the problems with this light now, just don’t forget to put the plastic washer in and the light will be save to use.

Guys remember, my flat square Ring fit perfect for zoom.
Not too lose and not too hard when rotate head
measures 28 x 24,5 x 1,2/1,5 mm thick.

Sorry to bother you guys with absolute noob questions here.

I don’t know anything about flashlights or modding or whatever. I can put a battery in and turn the light on, that’s about the extent of my knowledge. I only signed on here because I received a faulty BLF A6 and tried to look for a fix.

Still I’m getting the “Cometa” as a throw-in “gift” from banggood. Now I don’t know what to do with it after reading this thread and watching a warning video on youtube.

I only have 1 Samsung 18650 Q30 battery. Is that a suitable battery for this light?

What would you do if you were me with this light, if “working on it” in whatever shape or form is not an option?

Either use your 18650 battery or buy you a 26650 battery and use your Cometa.

As long as the washer that comes with it is around the driver spring there is very little chance of anything going wrong.
I have several Cometas & they all work just fine. You’ll enjoy using yours.

If you need further help with the “washer around the driver spring part”, or anything else concerning the Cometa; send me a PM & I’ll send you very simple but detailed instructions complete with pictures. :+1:

I always thought my English was good enough for everything I read, but the BLF forum has proven me wrong!

This was a bit of a rollercoaster. First I think, how nice of banggood to send me this gift! Then I come away from a warning video with the feeling they’re trying to kill me! Then I find a laundry list of things to go through here and don’t understand a single point of it.

Then I head back to the banggood site to read this note: “Note:Please attention the battery head,don’t use too big of the battery positive head.”

I have no idea what that means, either!
