…so you removed the third wire, and it ramped perfectly? How does the ramping UI work with a forward Clickie?
I just ordered one of these, so I want to know everything about it.
The 3rd wire had nothing to do with ramping AFAIK. From what was said here or somewhere else, the 3rd wire only made the strobe happen. But they also added a 4th AMC7135 and were having problems.
Ramping works as described….in the odd instructions. Tap the button 4 times and it goes into ramping mode(on the 4th time you hold it and the ramping begins), with the XML I have in mine and 1amp the brightness isn’t as noticeable near the end of the ramping. Then it flashes a few times, on the 2nd or 3rd flash it goes into Strobe mode(once you release it the next time you turn it on it will strobe), then if you don’t stop on the strobe it starts over. Something is funny in the programming because if you do it just right, you can ramp a little and before even getting to the end of the ramping somehow activate the strobe. I’ve done it several times, but can’t perfectly reproduce it(it’d be nice to because having the Strobe at the end of ramping is nearly useless to me…but is good because it’s basically a hidden strobe).
I wanted to try and connect the 3rd wire but had no way of doing it before putting it in the pill since I lost my wire clips. So I said screw it, along with the fact I had no way of making a side switch(but man i’d like a side switch host with forward clicky to put it in to try it……with more amps).
