The Red Convoy S2+ I bought for my wife came with a cool white instead of the 4C neutral white as advertised. It also came with aluminum pill, aluminum rings instead of brass pill and rings. The driver spring was cheap and weak.
GearWorse, SlowTech, and BangGood (no need to change that last name...)...
The "anything goes" specs is really bug'n me lately with these vendors and their lack of interest in correcting them. GB's service ranges from excellent to no-show - sometimes I'm real happy, other times it's sooo disappointing.
Mine have decent CW tint without excessive blueness. I'm happy with them, especially for the price. Like MountainKing said, great for gifting to the non-Li-Ion initiated masses.
No point in complaining for something I paid less than $3. It was just a warning for the people who would order and claim a refund for ‘bad’ tints. NO point in ordering if you want a neutral white!
+1, they all suck. I think I have seen a shift as of late. It’s changed and I expect we will see more of it to come.
Our "buying power" overall, is small and what they make from us, doesn't outweigh the "grief" we give them, most of the time.
Other sources are booming, so we "don't count" as much as we used to. (Vaping, etc.)
It also seems there are less overall active members here, than there used to be and activity seems to be waning. That also points to less concern from the sellers, for our needs.
Sooner or later, when you hear bad stuff all the time, you stop listening. That's pretty much how it is most of the time with lights from overseas and I think they just got used to expecting negative reinforcement and the lights sell anyhow, so why would they worry? Of course, I could be full of BS too.
I agree for some time now all the sk68 I have bought for friends have been thinner, lighter, crapper. When it comes to rest of the rubbish they are trying to sell us I can only suggest that we try and become more selective and of course take a zero tollerence stance, if it’s fake or not as described then open a dispute. They may not listen to us anymore but at least they won’t get to keep our money.
I posted this in another thread on fake XP-L's (https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/33780), but these are the guys responsible for many, maybe about all, of the fake CREE LED's out there:
They cloned about the entire CREE lineup, but they don't try to hide it. I've gotten many LatticeBright labeled MCPCB's in lights with the fake XM-L, their XL model.
