So, I’ve placed many orders with Gearbest and have had more good experiences than bad but their service has gotten really crappy in the past few months. I’ve had to cancel two orders back in February because I found out the items that I had ordered were out of stock about 10 days after the order was placed. I decided to give it another shot so I placed an order for 3 EE X6 hosts on March 31st. The package shipped on April, 6th. It arrived in the US on April 7th. It then, sat in Cincinnati, OH from April 7th until April 15th.
I received it today. This is what I got…
I’m sure that some of your stories are worse than mine is but I think that any damage on a new product is completely unacceptable. That reflector will go into the trash as it is completely unusable. I have a few left from triples that I built so I don’t have to worry about emailing their support to try to get a replacement. Only one of the reflectors and hosts were damaged, the others were ok aside from a nick or two on the hosts. Also, each host was missing a switch, spring, and a screw. The switch pcb was already installed in the tailcap but there’s no switch on the board or spring. Thanks for the crappy service Gearbest, I’ll never order from you again.
10 days, pffftt, I ordered a aaa tool, never showed 3 months later I asked where my light is, they said out of stock, I tried asking sooner but it’s not officially lost until 3 months. During the same time period I had about 5 orderes not show up, well one showed up, an empty bag with a hole in it. Got PayPal help on some of it but I should of paid for bribe, um insurance,
Long story short, never again gearbest, never.
Can’t see all the pics
But what I see does not look good
I’d open tickets right away, also about the reflector, whether or not you got something else to use is not relevant
Just signed in to whinge about the same thing… except on the two I just received the reflector was facing the other way: sitting over the tail cap. Two very damaged reflectors. Not happy.
If Gearbest wont send out a replacement I may see if I can convince the Aliexpress Eagle Eyes store to sell them + hosts… I know I would much rather spend a dollar or two more there to get a host I know will arrive in the right condition then waste time with Gearbest.
I ordered klarus g30 when it was on flashsale and until now it never arrive and the tracking number gearbest provide me is not moving from china after nearly a month
When you guys say, "why didn't they package the parts correctly?" There is your problem, most of the time. "They", which should mean "Gearbest Employees", do NOT package most of the items. They drop ship, so any one of a thousand other places are drop shipping their product and with the way their system is, the drop shippers KNOW, there is no recourse if things get "damaged in shipping" and they never have to pay for a replacement. It does not work that way over there, so there is much less concern for packaging and quality, since the ones who did ship, are not the ones who made the items, nor are the the ones who directly had anything to do with the buyer.
Don't be fooled, that is what happens most of the time with Gearbest and it is and has always been a problem. This is what you get for the lowest price many times. No quality control and poor packaging/service.
Beg all of your understanding, GearBest could not be perfect, make very customer happy, every order’s be right, so that’s why we have the consumer servcie to help all of you, and GearBest is on the way to be betther and better too, but never be perfect.
if we found general and unreasonable issues, we will push our related deparment to fix them (our cs will give you the compensation too), if it’s just isolated case, please just contact our consumer servcie rep to help you —— May
Please send instructions or note to your drop-shippers about this packing issue…
Tell them to additionally wrap each flashlight with bubbles. Once when they are packed well they’ll have 90% of chance to survive undamaged to our addresses.
And still, one got to like the involvement of Gearbest on BLF.
And it is my understanding that vendors can claim faults at the parry involved (manufacturer) and let’s not forget Gearbest is a big player so if they demand better packaging a supplier is likely to act on it.
In the end the company responsible should be understanding that adding a little extra protection and care is cheaper then messing things up.
I’m just cracking up over here imagining the guy packaging the flashlights using one of those plastic wands, dunking it in the soapy solution, and then blowing bubbles into each package before sealing them up.
Hmm interesting.
I like to think I give a little bit of advice to make things easier on people with issues.
Here OP says “I got spare parts so let something slide” my reaction, open ticket whether or not you for spares does not matter.
Please check the Gearbest avoid topic to learn I was more then fed up with them and very outspoken about the problems I had. It is just fair to be outspoken when issues are solved as well I think.
The only China seller spot I praise (and have recommended the most) full out is AliExpress.
But even there are bad sellers and for people who do not follow some basic rules disappointments to be found. I just try to explain those rules because let’s face it, without the China prices we certainly would have less toys to shine with
I also ordered a klarus g30 during the flash sale... I didn't even get a tracking number... Just gotta wait 4month for the package and hope its not damaged.
