General purpose flashlight for a friend?

I would like some suggestions for a flashlight to be gifted to my friend for his birthday. He is not an enthusiast, but he really likes my lights and his few flashlights are terrible.

Here are a few I have considered;

Sofirn IF25a
Sofirn SP33
Lumintop FW3A (Can no longer find on Amazon?)

My goals.

1.) Needs to ship from USA, I need it by next Friday. Prefer Amazon but not a must.
2.) Medium to small but does not have to be “pocketable”.
3.) A good mix of throw and flood.
4.) USB charging
5.) Capable of putting out some amount of wow factor. He has seen several of my lights and knows what bright is.
6.) Budget around $50 but flexible.

Thanks guys, I know you will have some great suggestions!

Thrunite BSSv4 or V5
Thrunite T2
Thrunite T1s
Sofirn sp33s
Fw3A is mostly sold from China these days, but a solid choice (remember, UI is advanced for novices)

this has “wowed” several of my friends for $40:

IF25A with a clip and diffuser.

Nobody judges here, you don’t need to justify buying another light

I am also considering the Sofirn C8L. I think with the XHP50 it will have plenty of usable spill and good throw.

Would you choose the C8L or SP33 v3? They are basically the same price.

I have got C8L and my unit has a beuitful tint, no tint shift and generates little heat so you can run on turbo for about 4-5 minutes without thermal step-down.
For me C8L is a best buy (you can read my review).

You suggested the IF25a earlier, would you choose the C8L over the IF25a?

Sofirn C8L or Sofirn SP35 if you want more compact flashlight.

If25a if you want a small and floody EDC.
C8L if you want a mid throw, less heat and better thermal mangment, but this flashlight is bigger and heavier.
IF25a and C8L are two different categories.

What did you end up choosing? The IF22A is a pretty amazing light for its size and price. Sofirn also has a sale on the C8F and C8G right now, though it looks like you would be late with a new order for your timeline.

FW3A is waaaayyy too finicky to give as a gift to anyone that isn’t a flashlight nerd.
