Damn, lost another great one.

5 Thanks

I always thought it was very strange that he named all 5 of his sons “George Edward Foreman”, and one of his daughters is “Georgetta”.

As he said,

“If you’re going to get hit as many times as I’ve been hit … you’re not going to remember many names.”

Damn. And I actually have a GF grille…

Kinda like naming all my cats Kitty.

“Heeeeeeere Kitty Kitty Kitty Kitty!”

…and they all come running.

He was way ahead of his time.

You can forget about the warranty now, LOL

It always Just Worked, so I’m hopeful I wouldn’t need any warranty.

Ridgy insert is good for sausages, but I don’t do bacon in it on the smooth one.

I usually make a Vimes BLT (actually BT because I rarely have L), and I’d have to fit half a package of bacon on the little beastie, and I can’t get arsed to make multiple batches.

If that was actually his idea, and he wasn’t just The Chosen Spokesperson for the doodad (unlike those “celebrities” who have their own lines of perfumes, pasta sauce, cookware, dogfood, etc.), then he deserves a Hell of a lot of credit.

Arrrgh… popped my bubble. He didn’t come up with the idea, but loved it so much that he fully endorsed it.

Oh, well. I still like him. Sad that he’s gone…

I think I am the only person that never liked the GF grill. Purchased it 20+ years ago. Used it for couple of weeks and went right in the garbage. I found that the only thing I could get to cook right was a burger, and it was not worth the effort for just that. Anything with a bone like chicken thigh’s it would cook real bad, raw on one side, burnt on the other. My opinion.

Ain’t ya supposed to flip 'em? Pretty sure it’s heated only on the bottom.

Never did burgers, only sausages on the rare occasion I’d get 'em. The big ones, not the skinny breakfast-sausage ones. Those get fried in the pan right before I’d plate 'em then toss in the eggs.

Chicken, I only bake in the oven. Can’t get arsed enough to try frying 'em and waste all that oil, and ain’t had a bbq grill in ages.

I bought a GF grill back in the day. Tried to make grilled cheese a few times and maybe something else…IDK. I remember thinking a couple of times that whatever I was making I could use the GF grill …RIP

I just learned that George Foreman became the oldest man to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, at age 45.
I have to admire Foreman for accomplishing that, though I didn’t get into boxing until after he retired. :boxing_glove:

RIP George. One of the greats from the golden age of heavy weights. The Rumble in the Jungle is a classic.
