Get your chargers "wireless" :)

Reading that some people have complaints about chargers with the wrong plugs, US / EU
or having problems with storing these chargers away,

I might have a neat solution for you!

A few months ago, I came across one of these plugs while searching here in Japan for a short cable to get rid of my unnecessary long cable of my laptop charger. The plugs were black, and about 5 dollars.

They plug right into your charger , which you are then able to plug directly into the wall socket!

I now have a few of them, and it really saves me trouble with the entangling of all the cords of different chargers etc.
Before I saw these, I never knew these things existed ! Thats why I was searching for a shorter cord. Later I searched ebay, and could only find white adapters, but they are still better than a 1.5 meter/5feet long cable!

I know in some cases, a cable might be better, but you should just give it a try!!
Especially great for traveling!

On Ebay you can get them for about $1 for US and EU plugs. UK adapters are about $1.50 including shipping.
Just search for: AC macbook adapters
Unfortunately they are all white!

They look like these:

Edit: just oploaded this picture: These are the ones I found here in Japan:
they look better, and are of a higher quality.

I hope some people find this a nice solution.
Just thought I wanted to share this, to make some BLF`ers life a little easier! ;)

Here a few shots of the cheaper Ebay plugs with my TR001 charger.

It can also be used for your Digital camera battery recharger... Like for the Canon CB5L, when you live in the EU.
This makes it a very nice portable charger.

Cool find. I have several NiMh chargers that plug directly into the wall, but all my Li-ON based ones are corded.

Thanks for the tip! Now, if they could truly be wireless.....

Not for me. I like the flexibility of putting the charger where I want it when charging.

Thanks for sharing this!

any link to ebay? the cheapest please...

if you have a mac laptop it looks like you have the required equipment.

Thanks a lot!

I actually like the black ones more that we have here in Japan. Because many chargers are black. And they look stronger, and dont have the strange shape as the white ones do.

But the white ones are actually even more compact, because the prongs fold right into the adapter!

@ Leelou: yes, thats a personal choice.. I just wanted to share this with people who do think its useful!

@Hill: how about : Get your chargers "cordless" :)

My laptop for example is always sitting on my kitchen table. And the unneccesary long cable has been an annoyance for a long time. Im very glad this adapter helped me to get everything a little more organized.

Whenever Im looking for my old Sony charger, on the bottom of my "charger bag" (bag full of chargers) I always had some trouble with the cords.

You're right. Thanks for sharing it. As you noted I'm merely expressing my preference. Hmm... OTOH I think I will find this useful when traveling. Less cords to bring, less hassle.

neat idea!

the AU plug is just massive though, haha, typical australian standards. *thinks of phone plugs*

Isn't that slight unsecure with the weight of the charger pulling down on a pressure fit plug?

I actually dont use it the way as show in the picture.
I have some extension cords, that lay on the floor, and thats where I plug it in. Next to my laptop adapter, wifi adapter, microwave cord etc.. So it might be a bit insecure if you hang it, but as long as you dont use `heavy` batteries, it will hold its own weight pretty well, I suppose.

@okwchin: your unlucky then ;) its the same with the EU and UK plugs.. The US plugs are the most compact, as the prongs can fold up into the adapter.

I`ve been looking to see if I could find some black ones, but no luck.

Ive been trying to search the net for them, but don`t really know what to search for.

Anybody any idea what these are called? 496read
