Glow ring bling

Ok, I saw where people dressed up their flashlights with glowy ring things and whatnot

Decided to try something a little different

This is a Sipik SK98 clone from FT

I applied some glow on super phosphorescent paint around the base of the led emitter (coincidentally works GREAT for night sights on my pistols as well) after a seconds of being on or longer

mouse over for change (it glows for about 2 hours with diminishing light [for a good 30-45 min has enough visible glow to see easily with just a quick charge from just turning it on)

The magnification of the lens sure does show all my errors though...hmmmm

Sorry for the lousy pictures

I got a light from OL that he did something like that. Looks awesome too. SO, I ordered some of that glow powder. I also picked up some clear epoxy. I am going to mix it, and fill in the tail of my Fenix LD01. I think that would look super cool. Its a twisty and I will use a small drill bit to open up a spot to mount a key chain.

Cool. I did it in a reflector

After posting I realized I have some in my avatar  1 is aspheric

Nice!

What would be nice is a store selling GITD LED spacer. I wonder if the GITD paint won’t peel off or even burn with high temperature and remain the same after a long time…

That glow on stuff is awesome but expensive to ship to Canada :frowning:

I’m a sucker for GITD bits, “O” rings, tailswitch boots, paracord and sheets of sticky back plastic.
I’ve got an ounce or more of V10 Powder from Glow Inc. as well as 5 colours of GITD paint from a U.K. supplier called Kilabitzzz Ltd The paint is a bit thin and can be added to with the powder. I’ve done some bezels and a knife handle with the paint and it holds up fairly well to wear as long as you apply it properly. White basecoat then a few coats of the paint followed by a clear coating over the top.
I’ve got plans for the V10 and some Devcon 2 Ton Epoxy. There’s a video on you tube showing how to use the powder in shapes cut in handle scales on knives. Fill the holes with powder and drip CyanoAcrylate onto it, the damn stuff glows as the glue hits it! It seals the powder very well.

The really cheap watery 10 for a quid Pound shop superglue works perfectly.

As usual, please excuse my photographic skills

Sure! If you excuse mine too… and the sticktape holding the trits in the tail  Waiting on some norland to be delivered.

EDIT: SHIZZNIT! You’re gonna have to forgive my computer skills. I can’t work out how to post this picture :~
