I wonder:
-what that rather unusual reflector might do to a XML
-what kind of battery is built into it
-what I would do to the charging plug (cannot use it here in germany/europe)
-if it can even be dissassembled/opened without breaking the body, I have had bad experiences with cheap plastic housings
…apart from that points, I think it’s worth trying it for that price!
Well, its LED inside the reflector now, so I hope it would be suitable for XML too. Its not totally shallow, I think.
I would put out that battery, because of too small capacity. YOu can easily install one or 2 or more 18650 into it.
Only things I would use are this plastic casing (not so great but for 10$…) and reflector.
Did you order it?
No
I never did such large DIY project, Im just thinking about it.
But it would good to hae some overdriven XML emmiter in 10cm reflector
PS. Yes, I just saw it now what you wrote last - that plastic housing could be a problem.
Should be quite difficult to mod it with a hard-driven XM-L, mainly due to the plastic housing unless you stuff enough heatsinking materials inside.
Ill install “meltdown warning” LCD blinking sign, wich will turn on after 30 seconds on high.
Maybe some buzzer too
