I would hope accessibility gets better? I donāt know everything about this battery and thatās why I started a thread. I can tell you my experience.
I bought a Mach 46950 light off of Lumintop. I wanted to get a spare battery. None on their website. Looked three times. Emailed them and they said they do not sell it. They only sell a flashlight with the battery in it. Some half BS International laws. What am I supposed to do? Spend $150 $200 $300 just to get another battery? Nobodyās dumb enough to do that! So I searched. I found one on Aliexpress. They sent it to me. Without a flashlight! Itās just not as good of a quality. I actually was pleasantly surprised that it worked. The bottom was completely different it didnāt look like it was isolated like the Lumintop battery was.
Lumintop has this Mach 3.0 light. It takes back to back 46950s. Have not really seen a good picture of the batteries. Most likely button tops or raised flat tops. Where you going to get batteries for that one?
Iām hopeful as the battery becomes more popular, we can access these batteries in the United states. Itās a great battery. And what would even be better, and this could be years down the road, that they make a charger for it.
I have never been fond of this USB charging.Really the only time I tried was to compare the amount of time to charge the battery on a standard battery charger versus USB. Standard charger was always way faster.
So with the Mach and all these other 46950 lights we have no choice but to use the USB at least for now.
So all you guys that have 46950 lights, where have you or will you get a spare battery?
Like I said the AliExpress one, itās blue, youāll see in the photos, I donāt think it has enough amps I can notice the light being weaker after 10 minutes of use. It takes a full charge which is good. It only cost $23.
I did not know there was only one OEM. Regardless of that, it could be the best battery out there and every one of them can have Duds.. Of course samsung, Murata,Panasonic/Sanyo Etc less likely to occur. These are made in China.
I have several 46950 lights, I am assuming the batteries should last upwards of ten years no? Arenāt they commercial from automotive use so they should all be āAā grade, no?
You know what they say about assuming! Thatād be great if they last 10 years. I do not count on it. They last 3 years Iād be happy.
I have no idea if theyāre A grade. All I can tell anybodyās is what my experience with them is. The blue battery from AliExpress did not perform as well. Who knows where that came from. I heard someone say a lot of these come from battery packs.
I agree with you. I didnāt know enough about this battery when I got that light. Who the hell is going to sell a flashlight that takes a certain battery and they donāt sell that battery on their website. So thatās my fault for not investigating itās. But when they become more readily available it wonāt be a hassle and it will be worth . The capacity is eight or nine times more than 21700 lights.

To start with the white Lumintops; just like the Liitokala (which are actually EVE 46950s, but more on that later) they also have a negative terminal on the ābottomā, but Lumintop just covered it up. In the picture below you can see how it looks when the white insulator ādiskā is removed:
The Liitokala 4695E/46950 comes with a black insulating sticker on top, which for the biggest part covers the negative terminal on the top, but when removed, it shows that there is āregularā 46950 negative terminal underneath:
The Lumintop looks different on top, compared to the Liitokala/EVE, due to the fact that theyāve placed an extra āinsulating ringā around the positive terminal, probably just for safety by creating extra separation between the positive and negative terminals. The Liitokala/EVE also has a insulator between the 2 terminals, but it is relatively small and hard(er) to see.

As mentioned before; Iām (almost 100%) certain that the Liitokala 4695E are actually EVE 4695E/46950 batteries. Not only due to the fact that all came with a plastic cover on top with the EVE logo embossed in it, as shown in the photo below, but also due to a (long) list of other reasons. Iāve posted (extensively) about this before here on BLF, but I just have to look up that topic/those post and I will add them to this post later on!

There (sometimes) is a way to get a reasonably ācheapā spare Lumintop 46950 battery, by buying the Lumintop Aurora when it is on sale and when there are good Aliexpress and/or store coupons available:
I recently spotted it (after all discounts etc.) for under ⬠40,- (~⬠38,50 I believe) and that was with tax and shipping included. (So something like $ 45,-)
That is how I got my 2 white Lumintop 46950s.
I have plans for making/creating a 46950 charger from parts bought on Aliexpress, which can charge at way higher speeds than the 20/22,5 watts almost all flashlights (and powerbank housings) charge these batteries, but due to personal issues, Iāve had to put those on hold. Not sure when I have time to pick that āprojectā up, because there are more pressing issues I have to deal with first.
I emailed lumitop asked if that Aurora would work? I donāt think I heard back from them on that. Someone else told me to do what you suggested to buy the Aurora and it should work.
That Blue Eve only cost $23. I donāt think itās the best quality. Thatās cheap compared to pay a 65 or $70 for that Aurora.
I got them all from Aliexpress. Iām from Europe by the way.
Iāve seen a lot of those blue wrapped EVE 46950s listed on Aliexpress and most of the time they looked genuine as far as I could tell, based on the photos from the listings, including those in customer reviews.
Yours does have a few āweirdā/different details though; the center of the negative terminal (on the bottom) has a noticeable different profile/look then what Iāve seen on my Liitokalaās and on original EVEās. The same goes for the positive terminal on top: there is a weird āringā showing, which doesnāt appear on my Liitokalaās.
Iām not going to say that it isnāt an EVE though, because Iām not sure if EVE might have brought out a new revision and this is how it currently looks. I only know there are some visible differences from what Iām used to seeing before.
Iām 99% sure that it is the identical battery and should work fine though. Looks exactly the same as far as I can tell.
Iāve paid a similar price (23-25 dollars) in the past for the Liitokala. Iāve only done discharge test on only 1 of my samples, but it measured well above the 30Ah Liitokala lists it at, which I think they did on purpose, just to be on the safe side.
As I mentioned before: the Aurora CAN be had ācheap(er)ā, but mainly when bought on the right moment when itās on sale and you can bring the price down further with discounts/coupons. Outside those sales/moments itās (more) expensive.
I was really excited to jump into the 46950 format! I bought 4 of the blue cells from AE, a charger, and two of Convoyās 46950 tubes so that I could have two cells for my 3X21D, and two for my 3X21B.
Well, the joke was on me. With every other extension tube Iāve ever used, you just put the battery into the tube and then screw that onto the head of the flashlight. Not so here. You have to do electronics mods that are way above my pay grade. So, now I have four charged up 46950s and nothing to put them in. Most of the Lumintop models Iāve looked at have garbage emitters. I toyed with the idea of the Rainbow 2.0 but Iām lukewarm on it for the price and havenāt pulled the trigger. Sigh.

Difficult to determine if itās a good battery, since Iāve had limited time/experience with it and not much to compare in to, but assuming that it is indeed (still) an original EVE (although possibly B grade instead of A grade?!?) it should be good quality.
I also do have a 46950 battery tube (intended for one of those Convoy lights), but I bought it from Pioneman, before Convoy/Simon offered it. I havenāt got a Convoy light to use it on yet, so I donāt have actual experience, but what is the main issue you struggle with? As far as I can tell, itās a matter of inserting the 46950 in the tube, screw in the āadapter ringā (which lines up the negative terminal of 46950 to make contact with the 3X21D head) and you have to install a center spring on the driver, to make contact with the positive terminal of the 46950. My Pioneman battery tube came with a spring, but Iāve read that it might take some (minor) adjustments to make it fit on a Convoy driver, but as far as I could tell nothing to complicated.
