I have a 18650 laying around and wondered if there’s a cheap small torch I could buy to use it. I have seen the convoy for 10 on bangood but it has options and I’ve no idea really what means what. I can say I want bright as possible mix of throw and flood and warmish

This is the standard Convoy S2+. Its world famous because of the price and performance.
That certainly isn’t a bad choice for an ‘all rounder’ the S2 lights are very popular. I’d imagine it would be ideal for you.
The photo provides the choices of tint - just pick the one you like the most - how accurate they are I have no idea, but it gives a rough idea.
As the ‘k’ value goes up it gets cooler white. Maybe the 5B or 4C?

You wont get to much throw out of a s2+. With xpli hi its reasonable so you should go for that led or the sst20 in a nice color like 5000k. But probaby is more expensive with xpl hi.
On the convoy aliexpress store the sst20 s2+ is 12 euro but if you say you are a blf member you get 10 percent of. xpl hi will be more expensive, throw is about the same.
