I have a XinTD-C8 V4 that I bought in last year and the forward-clicky switch that comes with it has been broken since a few months back. Then I replaced it with the forward-clicky switch from IOS and again it is broken after some time. These forward-clicky switches seems to be so fragile that they both have failed within a year, not to mention that I even barely used them.
By broken it means that once the switch button was pressed down the button was stuck inside the switch and doesn’t ‘click’, and also the light has serious flickering, failed to change mode, the light was unstable during mode changing… etc. When I put my Tangsfire C8 tailcap (with the Tangsfire’s stock reverse-clicky switch in it) on my XinTD C8 the light work perfectly, so yes it is definitely about the switch. Ironically the cheaper Tangsfire C8 seems to have better switch quality than the XinTD C8.
Did you guys face such a problem with the forward-clicky switch of the XinTD C8?
Can you guys please suggest me a source (preferably from China) to purchase a good quality forward-clicky switch for replacement?
I have thought about that, but the thing is they didn’t show the dimensions of the switch (PCB diameter, switch height, spring length, total length… etc.) and I am worried that it doesn’t fit in my XinTD C8 tailcap well later.
If somebody can give me an idea about the Solarforce switch dimensions (whether or not it is same as the one from IOS ) then I might give it a shot.
Have you looked at these? I don’t know anything about their quality but they’re certainly cheap enough to try out these
From the measurements they look like a perfect replacement for my ShiningBeam lights (Caveman, Spark, and Blaze). I don’t have my Fenxi E21 around but I think it’s also the same switch size.
Power911, CNQ does seems to carry the Fenix forward-clicky switch , but not sure if they are genuine and the quality is good. The 21mm one appears to be out of stock though, otherwise I might want to try it out too.
SIGShooter, is the link correct? Because I don’t see any switch related item?
chops728, which Solarforce switch you have tried to use in the XinTD C8? Do you know if this works?
