I know that when I’m in the market for a fake camera, it has to be a Wireless Fake Dummy Camera …cuz wireless is better for non-existent signals…or somethin’.
I did something similar once. I have a commercial building that used to have a sophisticated alarm system intalled, but was no longer active. I wired a blinking LED that I got from an old store display to the old keypad at the entrance door. I dangled the battery pack behind the wall. ![]()
AND…………
When ever we got a call from a security company for an alarm system, they were told we already had one and were very pleased with its performance. ![]()
Did the keypad look like this?

I could probably nail that keypad in about 24 tries?
I use trial cameras. They work well now a days. Oh, and they are usually wireless. 0:)
Long time ago I bought this FAKE keypad at Harbor Freight of all places. It looked to cheap to be real, so I didn’t use it. In runs on 4 - AAA cells and beeps each time a button is pressed. There are 2 LED’s, one green and one red that flash once and awhile.

Home Depot sells fake security cameras for $30 each. I just bought a DVR with 4 cameras, internet accessible etc. from NewEgg for $100. It will accept up to 8 cameras, but the 4 included cameras alone cost less that the fake ones at HD!

I use state of the art invisible fake cameras from Stealth hooked up to an ESP keypad. Obviously they are not wireless though, cmon, that would be silly. Maybe the next model.
Heres a picture of the cameras

I can’t see how they could possibly fool anyone! ![]()
Look at it like this. Even if the “Protection” is fake
and not working—-Some semblance of protection
beats no protection. It’s ,you can’t fool everybody
all of the time, but you can fool somebody some of
the time.—i.e. Some thieves , burglars and robbers.
I’m just relieved these fake cameras are wireless now.
I was so not looking forward to running all those wires for the fake wired cameras.

Sorry, that was the camo model. Heres the plain one.

You just buy wireless adapters. Duhh!!
When I put in cameras, I put the wire through the ceiling, so no wires are shown. As long as all the cameras match, no regular person would know which one(s) is/are the dummies.
If you would put a real camera inside the fake one, now that would be something.
wireless adapters use too much power, i suggest a bluetooth adapter

Yes, I did.
But I thought they were out of stock.
I believe those are the Emperor model.
… but how is my fake camera supposed to get power if it is wireless? Does it use batteries?

Actually, it does take batteries! Look at the link in the OP. But my question is, “Who’s gonna be the first to mod it?”
i always hated running fake wires to fake cameras anyway.
our supermarket has some on top of the meat cooler.
the butcher was stocking it one day and i asked how long did those blink on a d cell?
he replied that adt installed those and they were wireless.i know since no external wires are needed for a blinking led and a battery in a box.
they supposedly sent images to a dvr.
funny as the lense is opaque and the ccd/cmos sensor if it had one wont produce an image through it.
finally he said that it was good enough to deter the shoplifters.
