Got laid off... but oh snap y'all! Looks like I found a new jobby job!

As some of you may have noticed, I have not been around as much the last week or so.

Got laid off last week, so my priorities had to take a drastic shift. Most of my time is now being spent job hunting.

Hopefully this will not take long and I can soon return to my hobbies and more enjoyable things.

Anyone hiring?
LOL

Wow, sorry to hear this man! Hope you get back up on your feet pretty quick (after all, there are a lot of flashlights you need to buy :) ).

Sorry to hear :frowning: Good luck with your search for a new and hopefully better one.

Thumbs up

And that this leads to a better opportunity than you’d ever dared to imagine!

good luck!

what kind of work are you in?

edit: BIW is hiring welders, pipe fitters, electricians, lead men...

Hey, sorry to hear that. I hope you can get back on your feet soon and hopefully find a better job than your previous one.

Best of luck finding a new job...as others have said, I hope it's an upgrade.

I’m really sorry to hear this. Hope for the best.

Sorry to hear the news, but as others stated maybe this is a chance for better things.

Good luck for the future. Another of lifes hiccups.

Things are much busier around here now. I hope this means a turn for the better elsewhere as well. Good luck H.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck and the job hunting and hope things get better soon!

Hey Tim im really sorry to hear that. Good luck buddy

sorry to hear about the job front, don’t be a stranger though, you can always drop in of you need a friendly ear.

good luck on the job hunting.

Here's wishing the best for you. I know our words may be of little comfort when facing that kind of thing. Foy's beam shots used to include a pool. Now it's a zero lot line with air conditioners and garbage bags in the shot. Not complaining or fishing for sympathy, just know that many of us struggle.

Also, I'm told you don't necessarily have to spend to have fun around here. It's a concept Foy has yet to embrace but I have it on good authority that such a thing does exist.

Hoping to see you back soon with a shiny new job.

Haterade, sorry to hear that. Wish you get a new job soon. I have thought about this might happen to anyone of us including me, and should I continue to buy flashlights I don’t need.

Thanks all. Appreciate the support. This forum is full of great folks.

Definitely trying to make this an upgrade. Wasn’t getting much in the way of yearly increases… guess this is one way to do it! :stuck_out_tongue:

Should have mentioned, I work in the Govt/Aerospace/Defense Contracting industry. No, I don’t know Snowden! My experience includes subcontract administration, audit compliance, import/export compliance, purchasing, pricing, and proposal prep. Thoroughly exciting, I know.

Think I know what you mean Foy. It can be hard for me to look and not buy. Will try to maintain some presence here and provide advice/input when I think it might be helpful. But I won’t be buying much for a while. That is safe to say.

I have had all kinds of out-the-box ideas ranging from opening a flashlight store, getting FFL and selling firearms, heading to N Dakota to support oil industry, pursuing a Game Warden gig, starting an auto detailing business…… yeah, a bit all over the place… if I can’t continue on my established path not sure which way I will go.
