Got my Emisar D4 219C today...issue?

So, on Max output my Emisar DR 219C steps down at 16 to 20 seconds. Stop watched it 3 times.

Should I be concerned that I do not get the full minute? Should I ask for another??

That’s normal. You could adjust the temperature limit, but it will not go a full minute regardless of the setting.

This is known behaviour for the D4 (And any light with such a huge output on such a small body).

There is nothing wrong with it.

That’s normal, at least while the cell is full, and especially if the cell is high enough power. Who told you it would be able to last a minute before getting hot? If it’s not hot when it steps down, then you can adjust the thermal config of course. But it should be.

Yeah, my 219CT steps down on the first step at about 20-25 seconds and then another 8-9 steps over the next 2 minutes, with a fully charged VTC-5a.

Was playing with it last night.

I had to adjust the temperature limit on mine ALOT to keep it from stepping down even on the lower light levels. It seemed defective until I did that. Now it seems perfect.
