Dead at age 38 from a paramotoring accident.

I used to watch his channel a lot back when he was in the videos.

It’s pretty sad, he has a family and he seems to have died alone in the middle of nowhere.

Rest in Peace Grant.

I hope that your family will be able to recover from your loss one day.

That sucks…the world is much less random with his passing

When one has that degree of success in life, with so much riding on it (great wealth, wife kids, possessions), it amazes me that people are willing to undertake such dangerous sports like this. The number of deaths on Mt. Everest keeps mounting as more and more people take the risk. Grant lost his life in a paragliding paramotoring accident. Seems that he was doing it solo… nobody else around. They had to track him down by GPS signal from his cell phone.

Yeah. It is very sad. Death is a part of life. But it’s the part nobody likes. And to be so young, and die in such a way, makes it a shock that his wife and children will also have to endure, besides being sad.

I think he will be missed because of his sense of wonder in the world around him. He tinkered with some pretty cool stuff and was very big into the whole diy movement. We need more people who are able to find the time to dig a little deeper and poke around just to see what might happen. I feel for his family. Waaaay too young to be gone, especially doing something risky. There’s a lesson in there somewhere…

Not to get all “Point Break” on everyone, but

“If you want the ultimate, you’ve got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It’s not tragic to die doing what you love.”

If it’s any consolation, he probably did just that: died doing what he loved. I don’t get it, personally, but some do.

Like that dewd Wu Yongning, who filmed himself bare-knuckle rooftopping, went splat 62 floors off a building.

That, you couldn’t get me to do, not even at gunpoint, but paramotoring doesn’t seem like it’s terribly dangerous, but there ya go. Freak accidents and all…

RIP…

I updated the OP to say “paramotoring”. Original reports on the 30th had said paragliding.

Paramotoring does sound a bit dangerous, but so does driving until you do it.
I have been watching for more details about Grant, but details aren’t public apparently.

I know there is a “fun” maneuver you can do with a paramotor where you turn yourself into a spiraling pendulum. Of course the risk of twisting up your chute and falling to your death is a HUGE risk of it. I have no information that he was attempting it, but he did like fun and risks.
