Gday folks, my names Dale, im 33 and live near Sydney in Australia.
I was a total newb when it came to torches (and most other things electrical that dont have a keyboard attached) but after viewing this site for a couple of weeks and getting the flashlight bug 
I made a few purchases im happy with … and there will no doubt be more on the way >)
I dont have a real NEED for torches (do any of us haha), but i do a bit of fishing and camping and im looking to get into a bit more night fishing this summer:

BIG TORCHES:
Trustfire TR-J18 CREE XM-L T6 7-LED 8000 Lumen 5 Mode Memory - Black - purchased from Manafont
Ultrafire HD2010 CREE XM-L T6 8W 1300 Lumen 5 Mode LED - Grey - purchased from Tmart

CREE Q5 3-Mode 170-Lumen Convex Lens LED Flashlight with Strap (1 x 18650) - purchased from DX

Cree Q5 310-Lumen 3-Mode White Zoom LED Headlamp - Black + Blue (3 x AAA / 1 x 18650) - purchased from DX (SKU 132850 … DONT BUY THIS, its very average)
and another 3 x AA cree focus headlamp ive had for a years which cost me about $10 and is much better than the one above
And to run them all ive mainly got Trustfire flames (3 x 26650 for the J18 and 4 x 18650) plus some various ultrafire 18650 cells, all i can say about them so far is that they all fit in the torches and they all seem to work

Gerber X18 - ok but hard to open first few times

Bee folding knife EL01 & EL01B - love em
SRM 710 - love it
SRM 614 - NOT RECOMMENDED - had to use another knife to open it first time and i actually think this is a dangerous design as thr tip of your finger can fit through the gaps.
SRM F9707A - ok but hard to open first few times
Enlan M020FH - love it
