I use a smaller diameter for my I3Eos keychain light and it’s lasted for years. Offered in different diams, but the 1" should shrink to fit the .81" T6 tube just fine.

Talon grip tape or Dragon grip tape from Amazon. They’re basically the same stuff. This tape is typically used on Firearms.
- provides excellent grip
- Is thin and won’t add bulk.
- It won’t peel off on its own, but is removable if you change your mind
After applying the tape heat it up with a hairdryer to get the glue to cure.

The magicians fake thumb looks much better on a red or brass ts10. It looks pretty odd on the blue .
The camera just happened to catch the multi colored flash in battery check. Made for an interesting picture .

Would anyone know how these work?
In the name of Science, I ordered a similar gun grip strip from Lazada Thailand. No name, but looks the same. It’s self-adhesive apparently and I can’t extract from the seller if the heat treatment is required.
Is yours self-adhesive too and what happens if you don’t heat it?
I assume these identical to those supplied with the H1A powerbank, they are sized for 21700 sized lights; if I were being picky, I’d say they are slightly oversized as the friction fit isn’t quite tight enough.

If you don’t heat it, it will still stick just not very well. Heating it makes the glue stick much better.
I recommend using an alcohol wipe to clean off any oils before applying the tape. For best results, do not reuse the grip tape after it is heated.

I’d like to report that I tried various tapes and the fishing rod shrink tube, and it looks like the gun grip stuff is the winner. Thank you @Firelight2!

Well it should be very grippy. Now to see if that stuff will stay on long term.
I think I would go with just the widest piece that you put on… Though your setup does look real nice!
I did at first, but the tube is small and although the grip was better, I felt more friction on wider parts would improve the grip. It did.

When properly heated I’ve never had Talon grip tape come off. It sticks great even in quite small pieces. It doesn’t come off even with heavy use.
After much use I have had the textured pattern on the surface of the tape wear slightly. However, it is easy enough to pull it off with a fingernail and some effort and reapply fresh grip tape.
How hot to make it, more or less? I just ran the light on Turbo for a few minutes and kneaded the tape with fingers when warm.
I think the instructions say 120 degrees F. Running a light on turbo for a few minutes should be enough at least for the parts of the light that get hot.
I typically use the heatgun from my soldering station. It’s set way higher than 120 degrees and doesn’t blow much air, but it’s convenient so I use it. I only keep the heat gun pointed at any given point on the tape for a few seconds or so, and I keep the nozzle a couple inches away so there is plenty of time for the concentrated hot air to mix with cold air from the room.
Occasionally, I get it too hot using the heat gun. When that happens the tape starts to melt and the texture on the tape starts to smooth out. I typically replace the tape if this happens.
Until the tape is heated, you can reposition it as needed. After it is heated, it is best to leave it where it is or discard and replace if you want to move it.

I’ve been dealing with the same battle, all these lights are too dang slick. Elzetta and old school surefire’s seem to be the only ones I don’t have worries with.
For the rest I’ve had some success with those wurkkos gitd grip rings. They work well on these AA convoys if you double a single band over itself. They also fit on the head of the T8 like they were made for em. $1 for 6 rings.
