Guess the head for this custom body ... (revealed)

We have a sharp bunch of folks here, so I thought I would see if some could guess where this custom body will end up.

The head is a pretty common light which is owned by many - can you guess what it is ?

Here are a couple of teaser pics. The reveal will come a bit later.

Guess away !

See post #15 for the reveal.

Olight i1?

Solarforce head

A CR123a body for a UF2100 head?

The Trustfire mini 01 (I never liked the end-blob-with-curls either)

the lack of scale is difficult, I’m wondering if its a 26650 tube for a defiant 3c but I can’t understand the lug on the end if thats the case, I’m not sure its for a solarforce head, dont know if the threads in the head are anodised or not and its obviously either a twisty or a sideswitch host.

I’m going to go with a defiant 3c, just because.

That is an extremely nice machined piece of Ally there Mr X. I would have to agree with JohnnyMac that it may fit a 16340 sized battery. Pictures are very deceiving when it comes to the actual size. What could it be? I’m guessing the pitch is about 1.5mm x 18mm diameter? I dont know. :_(

All excellent guesses.

The lack of scale is by design - any reference items would give it away, I'm afraid.

Maybe its something very tiny.. 10180 or 14250 or something like that maybe.

Is it later enough yet?

Lets get small...how about the bulb retainer of an incan mag as the head utilizing a nichia on a 10mm star and TIR with this body fitting 2 or 3 LR44 button cells. :D

My guess is a c8 head. Do I win the brother of this lil thing? :stuck_out_tongue:

How about a 10180 body for a thrunite Ti?

Nailed it.

The head is a Maratac AAA I acquired some time ago. This body was a prototype in aluminum before making one in copper.

The cell is a diminutive 10180, but I'll likely make a 10280 body as well. The lug will also be drilled for a split ring, as I will probably end up wearing this one around my neck.

Thanks for playing !

Nice!!

never would have guessed, nice work.

Nice! I have to ask, how much would you charge for a 10180 body for a Thrunite Ti? (I was close :D )

Let me see if I can get my threading tool inside a body that small.

[thatswhatshesaid]. ;)

I'll PM you, if so.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Oh yeah, I didn't think of that. :( IIRC the BD-0 does have similar construction to the maratac so you would only have to thread the outside. If you're interested I could send mine to you. ;)
