Hey I found out why I’m getting the headaches and the dizziness to where I almost pass out.
I had my MRI on my neck yesterday(Friday) June 14. Here’s what I found out.
I got spondylosis on C2-C3, C3-C4, C4-C5, and C6, C7 resulting in mild narrowing of the central canal meaning the space between the vertebrae becomes narrower.
Spondylosis is a term referring to degenerative osteoarthritis of the joints between the centre of the spinal vertebrae and/or neural foraminae. If severe, it may cause pressure on nerve roots with subsequent sensory and/or motor disturbances, such as pain, paresthesia, or muscle weakness in the limbs.
When the space between the two adjacent vertebrae narrows, compression of a nerve root emerging from the spinal cord may result in radiculopathy (sensory and motor disturbances, such as severe pain in the neck shoulder, arm back, and/or leg accompanied by muscle weakness). Less commonly, direct pressure on the spinal cord (typically in the cervical spine) may result in myelopathy, characterized by global weakness, gait dysfunction, loss of balance, and loss of bowel and/or bladder control. The patient may experience a phenomenon of shocks (paresthesia) in hands and legs because of nerve compression and lack of blood flow. If vertebrae of the neck are involved, it is labeledcervical spondylosis. Lower back spondylosis is labeled lumbar spondylosis.
Thought I would let you guys know.
This ain’t good.
I’ll go back to the neurologist probably this week some time. I have to take him my MRI results.
Man thats sucks……
I thought I was bad off this month out of work because of some sciatic pain. Probably a herneated disk or something but I have been in and out of being able to walk for about a month now. Started off slowly, to where I couldnt stoop over the sink to wash my hands and progressed to where I was getting shooting pains in either or both legs. Then came difficulty walking, then difficulty moving at all. Im starting to mend, but still feel the mysterious back injury….
I presume you arent 19 like I am though which really bums me out for my longterm back health….
That sux and hopefully they can do something to help you out.
I’m going to have my head examined tomorrow.
Actually it’s an MRI of my head and neck. They think I have MS or possibly just neuropathy. It sux hoping for it to be only neuropathy. Well actually it sux no matter what it is. I have pain/numbness/burning in my feet, legs and hands, sometimes in my face as well. Also general weakness and dizziness cloudy/slow thinking. I’ve been in physical therapy for a while now also for a frozen shoulder. I worked through the worst of it but now that I’m retired I’m taking the time to see if they can fix me up.
Get well soon and all that stuff. You are definitely too young to be feeling like an old man.
in the same boat. Pretty much just like you, at 50 now I have the same problems from C2-C7. My left index finger and thumb have been tingly/numb/stabbing for almost a solid year. They wanted to do cortisone shots in my neck, without being able to tell me exactly where they’d start. I haven’t gone back. Will have to look at it again sooner or later but later sounds so much better I keep putting it off. Taking a shower a few minutes ago gave me that zing in the left arm that threatened to shut it down with pain in the neck/shoulder. Oh well, time to go eat Mexican Food!
Best wishes that you get a good Doc, I have yet to find that one.
I know how you feel and Iam truly sorry I had to turn down two surgeries last month because I cant afford copays I had a cousin with same condition that sucks. It was on his lower back they had grind out the canal around the spinal cord from s1 through L7 fuse his vertebrae and took 7 ti titanium pins.put him on cymbalta and are you on chronic pain meds? I ask because I and several people I know are there and there is a fine line with them after you become tolerant and try not too cross it because when you have surgery it will be very difficult to control pain. I wish you all the best.
Ill keep you In prayers I know the feeling im 45 and have been cut on more than 20 xs. Either way ill continue to pray for your recovery ( seriously I will)
Good luck to you and thanks for the get well wishes.
Keep your eyes closed during the MRI. I got claustrophobic this last time. I had to come back out. I panicked. That’s the first time that’s happened. Then that gadolinium almost made me puke.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Brad. So sorry to hear about all the problems you've been having this past year. I sure hope that they can do something to help it. We may be getting old but we are too young to be falling apart like we are.
Sure do love the spirit of this forum. So tight knit, and genuine!
Concerning things like this really help put perspective on things…. Enjoy life, its so fragile that even the smallest of abnormalities can throw a wrench in any everyday activity. Back pain is among the worst pain there is, though 80% of the populous will experience it nothing changes the pesonal pain.
I have been dying to fish lately and hurt myself a bit stomping the surf and catching some god given delights. Memories were worth it.
Dont let it slow you down! Anybody in here, enjoy what you got: With or without a flashlight;)
