The HK04 was a struggle to get out the switch, scratched the light shown above. Plan was to sand out the scratch by making the flat surface bare - might come out look'n good that way, not sure. The HK04 sure is a better look'n light with the SS bezel and style. Extra size is a + thermally, - for carry.

PhotoBucket had a recent upgrade and totally screwed up my pics - counts are wrong, pics dropped, pics duped, etc... I restored the HK04 album but uploading is very, very slow.

Both are good quality lights, depends on individual choice. Any light of this size with 4 XHP50.2 3v's will be hot in seconds, not minutes. On turbo, expect a quick drop from temp regulation - it's too much power. Maybe if the light was 4-5 times bigger with tons of surface area to assist cooling, maybe then it would last a couple minutes. Obviously the solution is to run it at a lower setting, then it can run a while and both lights do a good job of regulating from Anduril or Anduril 2.

5000K is not available, hasn't been for a long time now, 1 year or more, so nothing to compare.

I have tested both the HK04 (4x XHP50.2) and the Sofirn Q8 Pro (4x XHP50.2)

I use high-drain batteries to test (for the Q8 Pro, I did not use the Sofirn 3000mAh 18650 batteries which are not as powerful as higher-drain type 18650 batteries).

The Sofirn Q8 Pro is brighter compared to the HK04.
