Has anybody tried this Banggood 14500 light?

Looks similar in size to my Thrunite Saber 1A BLF from a while back that I use for EDC. I really like the Saber 1A form factor and size but hate its mode spacing on 14500.

Obviously rated in Chinese lumens! Thinking about buying one to test but wanted to see if anybody was already the guinea pig!

No, but I wonder what that “switch freely” means? Is it just a regular twistie, or does that part they point to act as a switch like a control ring?

The description on the listing says it is “head-twist switch”

My guess is that they mean it freely twists.

I prefer 14500 lights, like this, that don’t work on AAs, because they over drain less. I wouldn’t expect low voltage warning in a light in this price range.

cheaper at fasttech, and yes, I have 2 of em

So it’s just a normal twistie (no control ring)? Does it have a real/metal pill, or just a plastic ring that they use to hold the emitter and driver?

EDIT: Pics of the head disassembled would be appreciated!

Anyone realize that SS-T4 is used in the demo pics?

The emitter sits in the shelf of the head there is no screw in pill. There is a direct thermal path.

All of mine came with no thermal paste under the emitter so I lifted the emitter gently off the shelf and spread some between the emitter and the shelf. The reflector is plastic.

So, WarHawk-AVG and bikenber73, are they worth purchasing?

Well mine came from FT so I believe those are a good buy. I ordered one and then orderd 3 more after they arrived . I use AA in them mostly. Good little pocket lights to have around.
