I noticed that FourSevens is offering their first gen cool XP-G titanium minis for $28. I couldn’t resist.
Has anyone changed an emitter in one of those?
I think the pill is pretty solidly glued in, and heating it will melt the plastic centering/insulation ring. The holes for gripping with needlenose pliers are tiny on the Mini AA too. I’ve managed to get apart iTP A3/Olight I3S, Thrunite Saber etc which are all the same internal design, but there was no chance for the Mini AA.
Could the OP please post a link for the rest of us. Thanks.
Must have been on the clearance page and disappeared. Wasn’t supposed to be updated until Friday morning.
This is the one that’s mentioned in the OP, but not for that price unfortunately

Somebody mentioned somewhere that he uses lighter gas for making the glue soft, not especially on this light just in general.
Sorry, I’m ‘at work’ (ahem!) so I can’t look up the link - I just got an email notification that linked to a clearance page. They had Ti mini AAs, the mini 123 and something else…three models that still have first gen XP-Gs in them.
They must have a clearance page link in there somewhere….got the email last night, ordered one on the spot, and just got notified that it’s already shipped.
Edit- I just checked their site and can’t find a link. I’ll dig into my email when I get home and see what I can find. For reasons I don’t understand, I get emails from them a few times a year telling me of specials etc. For example a few weeks ago they had black/ titanium Preon 2s for $35.
I got an email with this link
And the info that clearance page gets updated every Friday.
Werners link is the correct one - now that I click on the link in my email, I get a ‘clearance center’ that seems to change hour by hour.
I was going to order another light when I got home, but they’re all gone.
