I have few Fandyfire STL-V6’s and STL-v2’s (single LED model’s)
For some reason some of them stay on the mode last used when turned on again and some of them alway’s go to the next mode down the line when used later on.
Is this the tail-cap clicky fault or is this an issue within the driver?
I especialy want to know because I want to trade out the Small-Sun ZY t13’s on my AR’s and replace them with the STL-V6’s and if worse comes to worse I do not want a low mode or blinky turning on if God forbid I had to use it.
Thankyou fella’s in advance for helping a newbie out great forum you got here….just one problem with it though it makes you spend more money……flashlight’s paid for with money and women do not go well together at least in my situation
It’s the driver, some drivers will go to the next mode when you turn them off and then on again, called a next mode driver. Some drivers have memory and will remember the last mode used and come back on in the same mode, called last mode driver.
You can probably eliminate next mode memory by adding a resistor across the capacitor maintaining memory. Try a pencil mark, a heavier mark to drain the capacitor faster but don't short it or it will drain too fast for you to change modes. Really easy, there's a thread here using a resistor soldered over it but try the pencil first.
Right now I am trying to decide if I want to go through that or just keep thing’s the way they are with the zy-t13’s on my AR’s….those lights work perfect with it’s two button set-up so you alway’s hit hi mode on first click plus brightness isn’t way off enough between the two to hurt for self defense situation’s plus you get a wider spill with the zy-t13……just the refelector is a bit wider making someone more vulnerable to be seen I guess.
