Have You Boys Seen This One

That is pretty dang cool!

And pretty dang heavy and big.

So is that going to be the next one in your collection? :P

Here's another cool one.

I wouldn't mind having either of them. But I don't see a price. That first one is just too heavy. My Tk 70 weighs exactly 3lbs with 4 energy batteries. That thing weighs 3.37lbs w/o batteries.

Rick tells me that Tactical K1N is $497 at opticplanet.com.

Forget that!

Well, I found this. http://www.4sevens.com/product_info.php?cPath=63&products_id=463

Why not just spring for the Kong-21? 8)

Funny how it makes these $500 flashlights seem budget

Yeah, that Microfire Challenger II L2000R is huge. I'd rather have my SR KING or DRY then spend that kind of money. But I do love the looks of it.

And where is the manual setting pictures of beamshots?

1,5kg weight? That's with or without the batteries? I suppose this doubles as a dumbell :D

19 x XRE Q5? Why not just go with a 3 x XML?

Cause this one looks cool. :P I wonder if you could swap xm-ls for the xres. :)

At first I was like...Meeh, I'd pass on it, I can get the same output from 4-5 XML.

Thinking about it further though... 2000 Lumens from 19 XREs, thats 105 Lumens from each LED. You're barely nudging the XRE at that current. I have a Surefire E2L with a Q5 that runs at 110 Lumens. It runs frigid cold, flat-line thermal stability at that Lumen output. If this light gets 2000 OTF and runs ice cold through the run, thats a well thought-out design IMHO. Getting 2000 OTF from 5x XML will generate a fair amount of heat, and the output should sag as a result. You wouldn't want to leave a 5-XML light running at 2000 Lumens unattended (IMHO).

You could get more Lumens per watt from 19 XMLs though. Although it would be a floody beam with reflectors this small.

Anything Microfire is so overpriced it goes past delusional, especially with completely outdated LED's.

x2... anything hyper-www marketed as "tactical" (GAG!! I hate that word) is going to be exorbitantly expensive and over-priced for what it physically is.

OT: kramer, I now understand your user name photo. It just randomly clicked

yeah there was a thread on it a while ago.

Hi!

I ended up winning two of these at eBay (the rechargeable versions) because I thought they would be great conversation pieces and good editions to the collection. By the way, I've never seen a more solid flashlight. Not only that, they are surprisingly bright given the older technology of the emitters:

QUESTION: I am being offered TWO free accessories for each of the lights - for a total of FOUR accessories. I would appreciate some advice regarding my choice. The options include: Red Filter, Yellow Filter, Silicon Rubber Protection Sheath, and Tactical Holster. What do you think? I'm thinking that I should go for one Silicon Rubber Protection Sheath, one Tactical Holster and one Filter (color?) but I'd appreciate some advice. Regards, -Bob- (KumaBear)

Any chance you feel like letting one go?
