He has taken interest in my flashlights and find great joy in wearing a headlight.
The one he has is some crappy cheap light with next to nothing lumens.
I have a nitecore headband and an 1850 light of about 800 Lumen (can’t remember the name of it).
any suggestions on a reasonable priced headlamp or headband/light combo?
I think an engeled one is preferable.
I think the dimmer the better.
Maybe the Nitecore T360? It is completely new so I dont know if it is possible to buy it yet.
+1. Good use for incandescent rather than LED, with youngsters.
No need to make the kid be a pioneer finding out for sure while the research is still coming in.

Thanks!!! Any suggestion on such light?
Perhaps Fenix HL-05?
It runs on disposable CR2032 though, but its plenty bright for a kid.
Or just any 3xAA Ebay single mode cheapie with multiple 5mm LED’s, though they are still plenty bright to be dangerous!
An no, I wouldnt put LITHIUM rechargeable batteries on kids head nor give to hold in hands.
I think for a little kid a AAA powered headlight like an inexpensive coast would be best. I have one with 3*5mm LEDs and it is very light and won't blind anyone yet will provide enough to light for a little tyke.
If incandescents are extinct, you can put a sheet of theatrical/photographic filter gel over the cheap blue-white LEDs everyone uses, to block the blue range the opthalmologists are concerned about.
Something like this would be easy to modify, as it has a hinged diffuser cover already in place

(I like Dorcy because they’re quick to ship in the US, always have some coupon, usually for at least 20 percent off for web sales, and the web store support is good; you can likely find a comparable seller locally. Tell them what you’re looking for and why)
