Heart and lung transplant for my Ultrafire wf-606a flashlight

I have had my Ultrafire wf-606a Q5 flashlight for a couple of years now and I did use it at work on a daily basis. I’ve replaced the switch and the driver wires to the LED board. It has recently become unfix-able so I want to upgrade it. I want to put an XP-G(2) emitter and a multi-mode driver in it. I just want High, Medium and maybe low, I don’t want any blinky stuff I get AAs free at work so I use it 2xAA mode. I’m not adverse to an XM-L emitter I think I can get better results with an XP-G(2) with AA batteries. Besides it would get warm to the touch with the Q5 before (hence the reason I want multi-mode)
To the best of my measurements the pill is 17mm wide from thread to thread and only 14mm wide for the emitter and driver board. I’ve tried looking for parts and i can’t really find anything. I did find this http://dx.com/p/cree-xp-g-r51b-7000k-350lm-emitter-with-14mm-base-44305 but I’m not sold on it. I’ve found a couple of single mode 2xAA boards and those cool programmable kind for Li-ion batteries.
I’m new at modding my torch and I need some guidance.

Thank you,

Well I though for sure I’d have 32 replies by now
Did I say something wrong?

I’m sure you didn’t - maybe no-one here is familiar with this light. I’ve got some DX boost drivers that will work on 1 or 2xAA, but they’re only single mode. I’ve used a couple of these for 1xAA lights, but every other driver I’ve used for mods uses 1x18650.

Sorry I can’t be any more helpful.

Cheers

I’m still pretty new to modding, but I think that 14mm emitter/PCBs are not as common as, say, 16mm or 20mm. Here’s one though:

You could take a 16mm one, and maybe file it down, say, something like:

If you want to learn reflow, you can get 14mm stars from Illumination Supply, as well as XP-G2 leds. As far as drivers, I don't know of any 14mm that are in stock, for 2xAA. I know of a couple for 1xAA, but none for 2xAA in the 14mm size. When you get to 2xAA you find 17mm drivers.

Unless someone knows of something else, you might just have to go direct drive with 2xAlkaline AA batteries.

Thanks guys that’s all I was finding too. I assumed there might be some website or trick I was missing. I actually have soldered a 16 mm driver on top of the back of the pill. It just barely fit in the flashlight and made it less reliable.
