Well, I’ve been reading BLF steadily for at least two years, and finally realised it was time to stop lurking.
The start to my flashlight addiction was when I wanted a bright, reliable flashlight, and through this forum, I found you can build yourself a Convoy host for very little $$$ and have a great, customized light exactly how you like it. Now that I have learned so much through the great members here, I’m spoiled. Any light I haven’t modded, rebuilt, or customized has little draw to me.
It now seems logical to make a flashlight completely from scratch. When the 4th BLF/Old Lumens scratch build contest was announced, I knew it was time to join up. Having watched the last 2 competitions, it will be exciting just to compete in the same league as all the seasoned modders I have learned so much from.
