Welcome!

Welcome! I am a newly joiner, too~

Thank You all for the welcome . And no we dont speak funny in Devon its just the rest of the country dont speak Devonian lol .

Welcome from Dorset!

I was born in a house in Blaydon nearly 48 years ago. Now I’m on the East Durham coast about half a mile from the cruel North Sea.

Oh, I’ve got a TN4A and a S15R too - the rest of my torches are little and cheap, on the whole.

Plus my big brother lives in Devon on the south coast between Dawlish and Teignmouth - lush house with views over the Channel towards Dorset. He gets sick of the Grockles in the summer…….

I live about 40ish mins from Dawlish next to Dartmoor and the Grockles drive me mad to they are real dangerous on country roads and dont get me started on the reversing down a lane nightmare scenarios every summer . How do you find the TN4A ? i only use mine for searching for lost arrows in a sports field but it does a amazing job .

At the minute the TN4A is on night light duty in my baby daughters room on moonlight mode. It’s on all night, every night!! It does great at that though, a really gentle amount of light. If you check the Amazon reviews, mine is the most helpful review so first in the list, that gives a reasonable rundown on my thoughts about it. I love it.

Grockles and summer traffic are what do my head in about Devon. It’s great from September to April when its a lot quieter though.

Lots of us Devonshire folk round ’ere it seems.

For anyone who’s wondering, Grockles = Tourists. We get swarms of the blighters descending on us every summer. Very much a love/hate relationship between them an us locals. Mostly hate.

Welcome to the Madness!

You sound like you’ll fit right in here LOL.

Greetings from North Norfolk (Just outside of England, apparently!)

Splott-Light

P.S. We get one or two Tourists a year too (our population Triples in the Summer!)

P.P.S. Love the Olight S15R too, and also have several 4xAA type lights in my collection.

Yikes! 8)

I’m 47. My dad’s parent’s lived in Blaydon for many year’s, when my grandad died (he’s buried in the blaydon cemetery) my grandmother moved to Winlayton and lived there for the next 50 year’s. When visiting we nearly always drove through Blaydon on the way there.

The North Sea definitely looks cruel and uninviting, haha.

Thrunite make some excellent torches, the TN4A and S15R look nice. I only started a few month’s ago buying cheap lights but I have a Convoy C8 which is a lovely light and I’ve ordered a Convoy L2 and drivers, emitters to start modding them. I’ll not mention the ebay and Amazon light’s.

●●●●Have you seen this thread, they need 20 member’s from the UK to do reviews, don’t know how many they have now but you get a free light. Mine is being delivered today.●●●●

That’s the spirit. My late mother-in-law used to say: all the other girls are out of step. Only my daughter isn’t.

Remark: as a member of BLF, you will be needing more dogs in time

And of course: welcome!!

Well, I guess I am a pain. I was in Looe a few years back and had a great time at a “local” with some locals.

Am I allowed back?

Thanks for the link Andrew

Well…OK, since you’re a BLF member (and Looe isn’t in Devon anyway).
