I recently became a part of the flashlight enthusiast community at CPF, and decided to also join BLF. I have a few old budget lights but even though I am just about broke I still try to get quality over bling and features. My lights include SureFire G2X Pro, Weiita Sparker F1655, Foursevens Mini MA, Fenix E01, Maglite Mini LED Pro, and more.
Make yourself at home, LanthanumK!
Welcome LanthanumK, you will find a whole different world of flashlights over here, sometimes wackier, always cheaper, but not less performing. And nice people to go with them :-)
Welcome to BLF!
Welcome fellow Jerseryite!
Welcome to BLF!
Hope you enjoy your stay here.
Hi there and welcome here!
Welcome!
May you discover some quality BUDGET lights soon, I don’t see much budget in your collection…
Cheers
Welcome! I'm sure you'll save a lot of money now that you're here.
Thank god for text. I could never speak that without breaking up.
Welcome!!
LOL
I am somewhat of a domestic product fanatic, so I strongly prefer made in USA, if possible. I used to EDC an Ultrafire 1xAA 3 mode light with 14500, but I gave it to my 10 year old brother. Gotta get them started early. He carries it with him diligently.
My current EDC flashlights are Photon Freedom (USA), Maglite Solitaire LED (USA), and SureFire G2X Pro (USA).
It is kind of a fixation with me but I strongly prefer overbuilt items, which is why SureFire was my choice. After getting a Foursevens Mini for my BOB, I was very disappointed in the poor build quality (scratchy threads, ultra-thin tubing) and overrated runtime. If I had a “free flashlight gift card”, I would get a SureFire E2L AA for my bug out bag. I’m sure many of you will disagree; that’s what I came here to see. I’m sure there are far better alternatives.
Yes, I do get plenty of aerobic exercise, although usually with 10-30 lbs of gear. Evasion is key, however. I wonder if strobe distracts them. Even if I were female, I wouldn’t be caught undead in that outfit.
Oh, and thanks for all the welcomes. Is this a party?
Hi there and welcome to the party!
Welcome to BLF LanthanumK.
HDS makes an EDC and they’re based out of Arizona. I’ve never had one myself as they are out of my price range but my understanding is that they are top notch.
Welcome!
I think if you stick mainly to made in the USA, you will not be finding much budget…
Coast make some pretty good lights, I think they are made your side?, but they are out of my budget….
You have to get at least 1 convoy light to see what quality is available to those of us on a budget….( To understand what great quality is actually available on a limited budget!)
Cheers
