I’m an old flashaholic from waaay back
In the 50’s & 60’s battery mfg. would warranty a light damaged by leaking. I sent too many back according to my folks and they cut me off.
I worked at Southern Company over 3 decades.
I had a job where selling was allowed.
Flashlight sales were good, almost as lucrative as computers.
I modify almost everything. Lights included of course. Admittedly I’m out of date a bit.
If I could break even selling flashlights I’d go for it.
Other hobbies, night hiking, jet-Skiing, prospecting for gold, snow skiing,.metal detecting, recycling stuff from wood to clothes.
I’ve been a member at another unnamed forum.
Man, Wound Way Too Tight.
my location of Bubbaville N. Georgia reflects a few locals, not me.

I remember back in high school my brother’s girlfriend offered to cook him up some frog legs. He said sure, he’d never had any before. She grabbed a shotgun and one shell. He thought that was odd, she told him you only get one shot. She took him to their stock tank in the back 40 and crept up over the edge, bam, got him a big ol 2lb bullfrog. She knew exactly what to do and how to do and wasted not a minute. Good lookin gal too! They’d go out dove hunting, he’d come in with one or two birds, she’d have the limit. Not just occasionally, but every time. He messed that one up and lost her. Damn shame. Her momma was a schoolteacher, and so is she. Central Texas at it’s finest!
Err, really I dunno. A 5gl bucket of misc assundry.
Most expensive a 1-aaa itp from shining beam, $26~
Couple Sipik sk-68 clones, several itp a3 eos, best keychain light for the money.
I installed some ir leds in a 9-led Streamlight headlamph (HP 4230 hdsl) 375mw max. My night vison’s ir was too bright for close, the streetlights on 1-led fixed this.
On 9-led’s the wide view was much better.
I mounted all this to a cheap 6v floating lantern.
Making a ir filter using 3 layers from the end of 35mm negative film gave me nearly 200 yd range.
Holding the lantern upside down by the handle made a steady rest.
Have several old Inova X1’s, blue, green & white
I use the blue w/red goggles to check for bacteria.
Bought 96 in one week from RCGravel.com, now defunct.
He is a Kansas City Det & teaches forensic science @ Kansas St.
Nice guy.
I use flashlights daily, here it’s a way of life.
Isolated, there are no streetlights & if no moon, stranded you are.
