Hi Guys and Galls who seem to all like Flashlights,
I am a half century old kid who first developed a liking to torches with a 6D Maglite in 1985.
That was something then and I still have it now.
I suppose they will burry me with it on my side. :+1:

Since then I have had a bunch more,
smaller ones, tiny ones, brighter ones, even tougher ones but nothing beats it.

After all the Bulb, LED and battery upgrades that went into it, it is still shining bright.
Now it is waiting for a Cree XPG2 5W LED that is on the way but I doubt it can handle any thing hotter after that.

Enough about the 6D…

I like fixing things and never could learn not to fix anything that was not broken. LOL.

I design avionics for a living at Turkish Aerospace Industries since I moved abroad to Turkey 3 decades ago. After 30 years spent around aircraft of sorts I suppose I can call my self an engineer first and an electrical engineer after that.

I stumbled across your forum because I just fried my new BT-C100 charger’s Q19 by inserting a 18650 backwards. I already posted to What I Broke Today topic.

In my younger years I would have taken a sharp photograph of all the parts in a device I don’t have schematics for. Now I don’t even know the part number for the Q19 which I sent to transistor hell.

I don’t own an Opus, but I found this photo from another BLF member’s thread that may help.

Here’s a cropped and rotated view of Q19. Does this help?

I did a little more snooping and found this photo of a different transistor made by ALNA:

The orientation of the ‘28’ marking seems to indicate that Q19 may be marked ‘1N’.

A little searching on 1N transistors resulted in this SMD Codebook PDF document.

I have an Opus BT-C3100. Several times inserting wrong side of 18650 cells didn’t made any harm to my beloved Opus. I used to be pretty sure that it has a polarity protection. Since the C3100 and C100 fundamentally the same charger, I will be more cautious for the battery polarity from now on.

By the way, I am very proud of you guys what you doing in TAI. I am a great fan of ANKA :+1:

I mainly purchased bulbs but not flash lights from china as I like to feel them before buying.

Bulbs were Ok but shipment takes too long to bare.

What types of flashlights do you have access to in Ankara? Most of the ones I purchase are manufactured in China. I prefer inexpensive but decently-built flashlights in the AA/14500 form factor. My favorite brands are Thorfire, Sofirn, Lumintop, UltraTac, and Enogear. My favorite 18650 tube light is the BLF A6, and I am on the list to purchase the TLF/BLF FW3A when it is released. My largest flashlight, and best thrower, is the Convoy Clear C8.
