Help me pick a multiple XML emitter flashlight that uses a single 26650

I’m looking for something to de-throne my old P7 flashlight for overall lumens.

I would greatly prefer a flashlight that operates on a single 26650 (or 18650). I’m paranoid about operating Lion batteries in series. I know to check the battery status, but my wife or small kids may grab the flashlight and forget to turn it off, etc. etc.

I know I can get any number of relatively inexpensive single XML emitter flashlights, and I have one on order, but I’m looking for a quantum jump in lumens, not just an incremental step. I want to keep this under $70, if possible.

Are there any good 3*XML or 5*XML’s that operate on a single 26650 or 26650’s in parallel? Any that are well driven and where they did a good job heat sinking?

You might want to wait a week or two

You could get the King it has 4 18650s in paralell.

Oooh, do tell….

Very Nice!!!

I can tell you now it will not have 1 (one) emitter in it.

I’ll take it.

I’ll be watching for the details on this one!

or will it be for sale, or both?

GIVE DETAILS! DO YOU KNOW HOW CRUEL IT IS TO LEAVE US IN THE DARK!

Now I’m just sitting here wondering if I should put more money in my paypal… :frowning:

The battery life would be horrendous

Side switch w/ lockout. Shooting for 1500 OTF. Very good heatsinking no cheap dropin design. 18650 battery tube is a possibility.

Assuming a 3*xml with each driven at 2.5A, that would be approximately 30 minutes on high for a single 4000mAH cell. That would be acceptable to me as long as it also has a medium 600 lumens and a low~100 lumens mode. Or else it could have cells in parallel. I just don’t want to have cells in series where you would be well advised to balance the cells periodically.

One other option is using sealed AGM lead acid batteries. But since I posted under the 26650 topic . . .

SOLID Jason!!!

Also looking forward to your single emitter design too!!

Multi XM_Ls with a single 26650 or18650 will not be good you need multi cells.

You should get the Sky Ray King. Which has 3 XM-Ls and takes 3 18650 batteries.

Not true. The 18650CGR can do 10+ amps discharge without sweating. IMR cells should be able to handle any 3-up draw needed.

ElectroLumens BigBruiser is a 3XML beast that runs direct drive on one 26650. It’s over the origional posters budget. I just mentioning it because it is an awesome amount of light off one cell

Are you making more than one ?
