i just bought a 7$ motobike light(YEAH, 7:money_mouth_face:
it says it has 6x Cree led( MADNESS), but i don’t trust them and wonder is what these LEDs
it looks like Xp-e Cree, But with SC-5(like XP-g3), or maybe they are Real Xp-e3 leds stolen from Cree factory, who knows?
so, guys, do you have any ideas what are these LEDs, thanks in advance
btw:the light consumes 12V@1.1A, and it seems like around 1000 lumen, maybe a better driver will get more lumen from these

They look like a cree XB-D or a clone
at that current I would guess at most 250 OTF lumens
most likely the light uses 9 of that 12V on a resistor

That led resembles most the Lumileds Luxeon Q, but there are differences too, so most probably a chinese clone.

they use buck driver, because the input voltage is 12 to 80V

Look in the top right corner of his LED its quite different from Lumileds Luxeon Q
It looks from footprint like Cree XB-D but not the emitting area, also the gap is missing
This would be 2.45mm footprint
It is some chineese LED not a good one
So this LED runs on 80V?
Maybe 500ns long then poof

A casual chinese crap, swap them asap
its not only clones fault btw, Cree and others freely sells cores only

You misunderstand me, i mean this driver can run at 80v(maybe at peak)
Just only test at 12v

if you can do this then you got true 1000 OTF lumens
the center of spot on buildingh is exactly 50m away
if the sky is very bright and has Photoshop Stars the its a very dim LED

Well, you can’t say how many lumen by its throwing
It’s quite floody
But compared with some my flashlight(nitecore and manker), it’s around 1000

i’ve tested it with 24V, yeah, it has Buck Driver, i measure it 24V@0.55A
not resitor in seri with led
