The 7th annual BLF / Old Lumens Scratch Made Light Contest will start very soon, but I will need some help to make sure things go smoothly this year...

Would you like to be involved in something great? We need a few volunteers:

  1. Up to 10 judges
    • Note: Judging will require a lot of time - be prepared to use at least a couple of days for this when the contest ends (In a timely manner!)
  2. One person to handle the sponsors & prizes
    • Contacting possible sponsors and asking them to join
    • Agreeing on the prizes with sponsors
    • Handling all the communication when sharing the prizes (towards winners and sponsors)
    • Note: This will take a considerable amount of time
  3. One person to maintain the competition threads (main thread, final results & prizes, people's choice)

Please message me if you are able&willing to help with any of the above. Please use a personal message so that others don't know that you may be a judge.

I'm able to help in all of these and will oversee the whole thing, but unfortunately, I won't be able to do them all on my own. 2 & 3 can be the same person or I can handle one of them.

I have no idea how things are going for the but here’s a bump for good measure

I have offered to judge, run the contest threads etc.
I put together a sponsor contact/ judge candidates list and some other ideas for the competition.
Waiting on further information.

About the timing:

- Some people want to build during the holidays (they have more extra time), and for others, it’s a definite “no-no” (family first)

  • Some people have asked to have the contest after the holidays

=> To keep both parties happy, the contest will happen from November, over the holidays, until February 29th => Judging will happen in the beginning of March. (hope this will attract more judges :sunglasses: )
