Help sought finding decent light

I ended up on this site while researching a new light. I’m looking for a light with 150 or more lumens, multi-mode (high low strobe) for daily carry… water proof would be a bonus but not necessary and my price range is up to 50 bucks. Can someone help a new guy? An Amazon link would be great, I just picked up a cheap 7W 300LM Mini CREE by Ultrafire but shipping is slow so I’m looking to pick up something that will ship with Prime in 2 days. Thanks in advance.

We need more information, what kind of battery do you want to use, do you want a zoomie or a regular flashlight, do you want close up lighting or distance, do you already have any batteries and a charger?

What flashlight physical size and battery preferences do you have as your price range covers a wide variety of candidates from a single AA light to ones using CR123 or lithium ion rechargeable batteries. Do you have a NiMH or lithium ion battery charger already? Do you actually have a use for strobe on the light? Basically we need more information if possible.

I would like the light to be able to take “regular” batteries (I have lots of AA and AAA) as well as other types for better performance. I would purchase whatever charger/battery combo necessary. The light should fit into my pocket (back pocket is fine) and fit into my mouth should I need to hold it with my mouth. Strobe is a nice want feature….not sure I’d need to disorient anyone but I like lights that have that option. I don’t need a zoom…the light would be next to my bed, in my car and used while outdoors. I hope I’ve given some more information. Thanks.

Smaller size is preferred.

Thanks for the reply. Open to all batteries and would like the light to accept multiple types. No need to zoom. Plan to light up closer stuff so not a need for distance. I do not have any batteries or charger yet. I wrote some more below on my intended uses.

This looks very interesting (i don’t own it), and they are located in california, many people get their orders in a few days (they are a very well known and recommended US seller on BLF, they also have accounts here and can answer questions)

This one is smaller, takes only 1 battery, check out the rest of their site, and there are other recommended US sellers as well,

I have bought from them and consider them an excellent company. Most of my orders have been shipped the same day I placed the order. The particular light Bort first linked to is AA only I believe. No 14500 lithium ion batteries. Basically it can use alkaline batteries, Eneloop NiMh or Energizer L91 1.5V lithium batteries. Excellent priced light.

Thank you! Will look over their website and make an order. I would have never found the company. You two are great!!! Thank you VERY much!!!

Your very welcome, if you have any questions please ask

Calvin and Craig, the owners of Illumn are fantastic guys! You can't go wrong wit them on your short list of sellers.

You may also want to look into the Olight S15 Baton. I have the S20 (18650) and is about my favorite light from the 100+ lights I own. You simply can't go wrong with it and its worth every penny.

when I first got my solarstorm SC01 I wasn’t really happy with it at all. Then I figured out that it had a short in it. I now have another one that I picked up and for a not so expensive light I can’t think of anything that is really better that takes a regular AA battery. Side switch, nice modes and a surprising amount of light for a little AA light.

I don’t know if anyone here in the states is selling this light or not, but in my opinion it’s well worth the wait to pick one up from China.

There is one for sale on amazon but I wouldn’t pay what they are asking for it. over $35. Although to be honest there are tons of lights that cost more that are not as nice.
